I had such a positive first experience here with Sunny!! She’s incredibly talented and knowledgeable. I explained generally what I had in mind– I wanted FUN bridal nails, some sort of a glitzy twist on the classic french manicure. She did chrome on top of the french with these tiny cute pearls and it looked amazing! I was complimented over and over on my gorgeous nails! It was also my first time with gel-x extensions and I was so impressed. Not only was she quick and efficient with the services, but she did an excellent job with the shape and length of the nails. Overall, I definitely recommend this place and Sunny specifically! 🙂

I’ve been to this salon twice and Sunny has done my acrylic nails with nail designs each time. They were very detail oriented and made my nails identical to the photos I showed. She was also quick to do a whole set and nail design in about an hour. I have been impressed at how quickly and good my nails have come out each time. Would recommend booking with Sunny if you’re looking to do design! The prices for designs can vary depending on the details so that is something to be mindful of as it can add and extra $40-$50 on your total. They do offer 15% off on Mondays and Tuesdays which is helpful.

I have been to Sparkle Nails twice, and I am very surprised at how different the experiences were. This is the story:

January 10:
My first time at Sparkle. I got a Dip Manicure with Pei. The nails were by-far the best I have ever had. The process could have been better. I don’t like soaking my fingers in Acetone. It burns. Brushed that part off because this stunning mani lasted OVER THREE (3) WEEKS looking completely presentable and somehow no cuticle issues or even outgrowth… how?? No idea. Felt like I found my new go-to nail tech

Feb 2:
I arrive for my second Dip Manicure with Pei, but because of a scheduling error, I ended up with Thao. The final product looked fine, but nowhere near Pei’s work. I thought, “No big deal. It happens. I will go back to Pei next time.”  I was very wrong about it not being a big deal.

The following day, skin above my nails/cuticles was peeling back in a way I have never experienced in my life. It escalated so quickly–into open sores and burning pain. Currently, there is still peeling but it is healing.

To add to the burn (pun intended), look at the nails themselves–especially at the cuticles in Mani 1 vs Mani 2.

I don’t know what part of the manicure process caused this, but I have to believe that the removal process has something to do with it: soaking fingers in a bowl of Acetone, with a strip of paper towel at the bottom to “rub nails on”.

This is just my experience.

Amazing atmosphere, really nice staff, I walked in without an appointment and the staff helped me pick out the perfect colour and let me try out several until I found the right one. It was over all really fun, they made sure every step of the way it was to my liking. As a first time, I definitely recommend!!
