Customer Says:
This was my first time at this salon. They are very nice, and the place is clean. The super sweet gal working there, whose parents own the place, said they’re often packed on Saturdays, so appointments are necessary. It’s a family owned business, and I also learned that they’re struggling to find workers like every other small business, so if you walk in without an appointment, keep that in mind.
I did have to wait a bit even with an appointment, but again, I understand that small businesses are struggling to hire these days. They definitely go straight to the drill to remove gel polish, so if you are someone who needs to have yours soaked off, I’d let them know in advance – or ask when you make an appointment. I will do the same next time, as drill removal weakens my nails to the point where I have to stop gel manis for a few months while my nails recover. I have also learned that salons should NOT rely on drills to remove polish, as not only does it weaken nails, it creates grooves/damage that the next coat of polish then soaks into, further damaging and staining your nails.
So, all of this considered, this place is fine. Very nice people and the salon is fairly clean. Not spotless, but not grimy either. I just don’t want a nail fungus, so as long as they clean their tools and tubs, I am not super picky.
Prices are commensurate with other salons, so this place isn’t a deal, but not unreasonable either. Overall, if they’ll use the soak method next time, I would return to this place.
However, the pedicure was NOT good. Not only did the gentleman not get any of the dead skin of my feet, but he didn’t even put lotion on them! He rubbed lotion on my legs with a nice little massage, but zero lotion on my feet! I went there to make my feet look smooth and hydrated, but they look NO DIFFERENT than when I went in. 🙁
And as for the polish, I do not like how there is a thick line of it at the cuticle line. Part of the problem is that he didn’t trim the cuticles very well and the other part is that he layered on the polish too thick.
I really wish I wouldn’t have wasted my time and money today, as I’ll have to go home and give myself a good foot treatment.
