Honestly the worst manicure I’ve ever had. I went in with an old acrylic on. A couple had popped off and the others looked crusty. I asked for a new set. He said he would fill the ones that are on and give me a few new and I told him no thank you I wanted a full new set. He told me it would take longer. When I said “oh okay do whatever then,” he proceeded to RIP the acrylic off. Like RIP it off. It hurt so bad and I told him so. ANY other time I’ve gotten my nails done they at least soak them for a little to make the take off a bit easier no? I told him I wanted to soak them for a bit so he pours acetone in a bowl and sticks both of my hands in said bowl of acetone. My fingers started to turn white and crusty after a couple of min. He had walked off at this point so I went up to a few other workers and told them what was going on. Tried to explain to them that no one ever has just ripped off my nails nor told me to stick my entire hand in a BOWL of acetone, and proceeded to just say to me that it “depends on where you go “ when it comes to take off. Anyways. At this point I’m embarrassed and start to cry. I came in to relax and get my nails done now I’m shaky and crying in public. He takes a while to come back to me, starts to do my nails and by the end I just wanted out of there. My nails look horrible. I asked for a snowflake design and he said he couldn’t do it. I also said I don’t want a thick white tip and well whatever. And just wanted out. Worst manicure ever. Front to back. I will NNEVER go back. I’ve been a customer for 2 years. Such a shame.

Overall, a great experience. I went with my daughter who’s 5 and it was her first manicure. The tech working with her was GREAT, gentle and accommodating, and very conversational with us.
My manicure turned out Ok in general… but I was very unhappy that my tech clipped off the curved point of all my nails without asking me, even after I clarified (when I saw her take out the clippers) that I wanted them to stay long. She acted like she was going to honor that, then clipped them all short. So $45 later I’m honestly kind of bummed that the nice curves I’d grown out are gone. I have never had someone preemptively chop my nails down to nothing without asking me first, and once she got started and I couldn’t really see, I didn’t protest. If I ever go back I’ll be extremely clear but I wish I didn’t have to be. My nails were cute. RIP

I’ve been coming to Zen for years, and for a long while I really did enjoy the family-run nature of the business. It’s unpretentious and cozy inside. But I’m starting to realize the attention to service and, honestly, business isn’t returning, even after the restaurant has been around for a while. This is probably the sixth time I’ve waited for over half an hour for a scheduled appointment, and even then the service from various nail techs has varied so much that its hard to predict whether the time was well spent. I really want to keep coming – I live right around the corner – but fool me twice…

I was told to come at a certain time ..got there at said time, sat and waited for atleast 20 minutes. I purchased the $65 pedicure (NOT worth it) and asked for a basic manicure- trimmed and filed with cuticles cleaned up and that was apparently $20 worthy…. except it wasn’t. I opted out of paint and my nails were uneven. It was probably because they took me while they knew they had another appointment during my servicing….. Naturally, they paused my service to assist another client. Loathe. Due to this, it all felt rushed and in addition, not worth the $95!! I spent. Insane pricing that does NOT live up to the service performance and results. I guess they charge you for the small mimosa made with $5 bottle of champagne…..that is the only explanation for the additional $10 to my bill. They should inform it isn’t complimentary. I’ve never been to a salon that offers ,but doesn’t tell you that you will be paying for the drink…as a matter of fact..every salon I’ve been to ,they are complimentary. I won’t be back and would not recommend this salon.

Sadly I did not have a great experience during my visit. Impersonal service and very transactional. I tried making connections to a very stale nail tech. I made my appointment and was on time. I booked a mani and pedi online and was denied accommodation to make my nails look how I wanted. I got a simple glitter polish and asked for the glitter to be made more opaque using a particular technique. No. Just flatly no. Ok… Then I asked for a design on two nails. A simple stamp or line design. No.( Because that would require 2 or 3 more colors was what I was told.) Disappointed only because my requests were very reasonable and I know another place would have been able to give me a simple stamp to make me happy lol. The vibe was get in, get what you get, pay us and go which is just what I did. I’ll try a different spot next time or maybe a different tech.
