I went to Ulta Beauty to buy beard oil (I’m a black man) and when I was in line, the lady in front of me was a white woman and she was greeted with a “how are you today” and a warm smile. When it was my turn, I walked towards Jemae’s register (cashier) and then instead of greeting me she looked to her left and noticed that the lady at the next register just got done with a customer so she told me to go to the next register while there was already another customer walking towards that direction. It didn’t stop there, while my card was still processing the payment, she bagged my item and handed me the product and told me I would get an email receipt, rushing me out the store. You should not treat people differently just because they don’t look like you!!
They definitely lost a customer today

I went to buy the Patttern Scalp Serum by Tracee Ellis Ross as well as the Detangling Nectar! Xavier was knowledgeable about Pattern. He says that he uses the scalp serum on his braids! Jakorie was very nice, friendly, and fun!! I loved talking to her. The scalp serum is awesome and leaves your scalp feeling nice!! My store experience was nice. Xavier and Jakorie made my experience nice!

I moved from California a year 1/2 ago. I managed Ulta salon and I’ve worked as a vender/makeup artist as well as an educator for 30 years. The girls seemed nice. They are not educated on how to work with cosmetics, clients, or knowledgeable. When you do find someone to help you, they are annoyed. I have been there a few times and it asked for help with Products, color, matches, and many more. I was told thrown this color might work. She threw me the product and then walked away without any consultation or color match. No smile, no hello. In other words… your team needs sales training, learn how to do customer service, learn how to Color match and much more.
Just some advice.

I had a wonderful experience with store 409 and associate JaKorie. I turned 70 this year and the foundation I was using wasn’t working for me anymore. JaKorie was able to help with the brand and color plus a primer. I put it on this morning and it was wonderful. She also help with the applicator. I feel she went beyond her job and I sure appreciate it.

1. We called, asked for prices and were given said prices. We made an appointment for a particular service.
2. We arrived at the scheduled time for the service.
3. The hair stylist then decided to change the services and upsell the heck out of a ton of things that were not wanted.
4. The hair stylist refused to provide the service we originally had made an appointment for.

Among other things, the stylist went on rants and lectured when pressed for the desired service. WOW…. we will never be returning here. Avoid at all costs until they learn what a customer is. Here is a tip, they are not money bags that can be fleeced and discarded. Also, if the salon cannot provide the services they quote for, then stop quoting services that won’t get done.

People have budgets to stick to and they don’t need a salon out of all things to derail them because they are trying to make an extra buck.
