I walk in, ask for a personal shopper and a well spoken educated young man steps up. In minutes I am led to everything I ask for. He knew everything about the products.
The store is bright and immaculately clean. I felt welcomed and never talked down to because of my limited funds. The prices range from easily doable to take out the charge card. Something for everyone.
My guy now knows of another place to get me a gift card. I did say this place is just under the jewelry store.
ps…. it was for the best for me that I was in a hurry. Otherwise I would have spent more.
Another thing….is there a tip box for our personal shoppers?

Customer service severely lacking. I’ll pump it up to 2 stars because I did find what I needed despite the fact that I had NO assistance. It is a very large store; clean and neat. There were a few bare shelves, but overall, a decent selection of products. I pretty much had to search every shelf to find what I was looking for. A small brand. I was very surprised that no staff were on the floor. There were two ladies receiving make-overs and two cashiers (and only two customers checking out). I saw one person wheeling in some new stock, but even though I tried to make eye-contact, they didn’t even acknowledge me. Customers in the store seemed to be there for recreation and not shopping. Finally, I have to mention the first time I visited this store was at the end of the pandemic and my husband was with me. We walked in and walked out. There was such an unbearable scent of perfume or room freshener, that neither of us could breathe! I did not experience that today, but mention it here because I didn’t expect to return to this store. I MUCH prefer Sephora for the customer service and product selection–FAR superior.

Thank you Kathryn for a great experience at yuba city ulta. I asked if she could look up my previous purchase history so I can make sure I ordered the right foundation online. She did so nicely and then got my online order ready since I was already in store. She was friendly and attentive 👍

May 7 – Update to the review: thank you for addressing the issue, It would be appreciated if you could answer if the practice of demanding personal information for returns is legal.

It is even legal not to be able to return items if you don’t give them your phone no? The negative review is ONLY based on the following: checking out, the cashier asks if I have a phone no. with them. I don’t have one and I don’t need to give one. Cashier says that if I don’t give them a phone no. I won’t be able to returns products even if I have a receipt. I am O.K. with that, I have no intention to return my two items. Then the cashier asks for my first and last name. I am not going to give them to you. Then I pay with my credit card and the cashier repeats that if they don’t have my phone no. I won’t be able to return my items even with the receipt. Now, I hope that the cashier was wrongly instructed because this is the first time I hear of such a policy. Some stores don’t even ask for the receipt for returns, and here they want your phone and name? So, is it legal to do this?
