Top Nails & Spa is impeccably clean. I got a gel manicure last week, and the colors were both classy and durable, with no chipping at all. The owner and staff were very friendly and made me feel welcome. I always book my appointments in advance and it’s always worth it!

I was willing to let my experience go, but then my nail broke just a couple days after getting my fill. I came from out of town and needed a fill, I came in with my daughter as she needed one as well. We weren’t expecting special treatment as we were walk ins. We both tried to be friendly to the two that were working there, but the whole time we felt like we were a huge inconvenience just for being in their shop. Both of us were never asked if we wanted acrylic or gel, they just automatically put on gel and I was never given a chance to correct them as we both originally had acrylic. Then, when cleaning and shaping my nail, the man whom I’m assuming is the owner, took down my whole natural nail to the acrylic, getting rid of any support the acrylic might have had. Both my daughter and I were burned numerous times by the dremmel tools, but we never complained. The woman doing my daughter’s nails kept getting frustrated with her because she would speak so quietly that my daughter couldn’t hear her and my daughter would ask her to repeat herself and she would get an attitude. The man doing mine seemed rushed. Granted, I do give him leniency since a group of 6 came in to get pedicures and it was just those two in the shop working. As you can see from the pictures, I asked for easy color and holographic on my ring finger, he went to put black on my ring finger, I didn’t know he was supposed to do that and I went to try and correct him and he rudely said “I need to!” It was only then that I realized what he was doing. I also I have a condition where my hands stiffen, which I explained to him in the beginning of the fill and he kept getting frustrated with me when my hands wouldn’t relax. I am not rough at all with my nails as I am disabled and my nail broke 3 days later just putting on shoes. And to make things more frustrating, it broke right where my natural nail is. I am no longer in town so I can’t even go back to get him to fix it, nor would I want him to as I’d be worried he would hurt me again. I just want my money back for this experience as it is possibly the worst nail experience I’ve ever had, and I get my nails done around Detroit usually.

I asked for a simple design and the guy charged me $20 extra. It was a messy job and when i asked for him to redo the paint job he laughed at me. Did not offer a refund either. They did redo the paint job to plain white.
