Customer Reviews:
Then, another lady came over and used the polish machine to clean off the old gel. That’s the proper way to do it. Is the first technician not trained?
The Second tech then proceeded to shape my nails – about half way through the first tech was working on it. I was relieved, as this lady is obviously a lot more experienced and careful judging the way she worked.
However, when the second tech was done with the shaping and cutting, she left and the first older lady came back. I should have stopped her service but I kept hoping that Second tech will come back. She never did.
I was busy on my phone so I next time I looked down, the color I picked was far from what it should look like painted on my toes. It looked faded, and I could see through the color and my original nail color is showing under.
Then, a third tech offered to “fix” it. She was also meticulous, seemingly experienced, the way and swift strokes she used to repaint and added more coats. The outcome was a lot better but she had to fill in the gaps that first tech missed which now I think wouldn’t last as long.
Also, the end product was dull looking. Either they didn’t have good top coat to bring out the shine or the paint they used is old. I was so glad the third tech salvage my color but I ended up spending more time and now I’m worried the color wouldn’t last as long as it should since it’s a fix job. I paid for gel. Also, I believe the first tech damaged the delicate top enamel of my big toe nail by forcibly peeling the old gel off using the pincer tool.
In addition, the massage – or whatever it was meant to be is the weakest ever. I honestly think a 10 year old could do better.
The ladies are all friendly. It’s just tough luck I got the worst tech there. And I’m not so sure of the hygiene either. In the bathroom, the utensils / tools were just soaking in a basin. Normally in a modern salon, they would be sitting in a disinfectant heater or sterilizer. That’s what I’m used to. Maybe they added chemical to sterilize it? I can’t tell…but it didn’t look good.
I added a star because they didn’t ask for a tip especially when she has done a less than satisfactory job. Also, they were sweet to the end, smiling and sent me off with a small Christmas gift. I thought that’s a nice customer gesture. Nice folks, but I’m not sure I would recommend this shop though.
