My friend and I were in Cairo for a friend’s wedding and were recommended TOI as it offers a hijabi-proof services. When we arrived a friendly woman escorted us to the private room. Right before, the electricity turned off but we were unaware of the situation and they proceeded to tell us to take the hijab off so she could wash our hair and eventually blow dry it. She told us our hair was dry and she was going to put a mask in, we agreed.

She then left us in the room, she told me the mask needed 15 minutes, after 35 minutes she still had not returned. In addition, every time the door opened when she needed to get something, the male workers would peek and stand still pretending to talk to each other. After being let alone for more than 20 minutes my friend put on the towel and went to get her. She swore she hadn’t forgotten about us and that she also had no idea about when the electricity would come back on. She washed our hair and offered no solutions whatsoever even though we did stress that we had a wedding. Up until now we did realise that ofcourse she alone was unable to solve this matter.

We were about to go to another hair salon but first paid for the hair wash. It was 2000 pounds! The woman working behind the counter was incredibly rude when we asked her why the price was so high as we just sat in a room with no electricity for almost an hour with no communication. She ignored us and helped other customers. We again asked why the price was so high, we did not get what we came for. She said that the mask was very expensive.

After a couple of minutes of her ignoring us, the manager came who said he would subtract 600 pounds. The issue was not solely the price, it was the lack of communication, the lack of offering a solution, and of understanding why we were so disappointed as we didn’t get what we asked for and wasted so much time while we still had a wedding to attend the same night and had to go to another hair salon.

Anyway we went to ELLE SALON, which we had done other treatments before, and it was perfect service!

I had the worst experience with Toi Zamalek- Kimi himself- I went to do highlights with him yesterday and he was very arrogant and didn’t listen to what I needed. He chose a dye and put it randomly in 5 mins than passed to me one of his junior staff to continue the process with me although I paid extra money for Kimi to do my hair. He didn’t even look at the final color and whether I like it. When I told one of the staff that I am not happy with the color, noone really cared

Awful experience
It was my first time waxing there and the room wasn’t clean (there was food inside the room), the staff was totally unprofessional and there was a cockroach…
Would never recommend it to anyone

Served by Ali, wonderful service, washed and styled my hair exactly how I like it. Australian standards, easy to drop in and incredible value for what you get. Hoping to return next weekend. Thanks Ali & team!!

I had a terrible and very disappointing experience a month ago at Toi Salon, Zamalek branch. I showed Amir from his own Instagram account (instagram: hairbyamirs) the exact color and I explained clearly that i want my hair lighter than the current highlights, however, he darkened it pitch-black and ruined the existing highlights!!

Very unprofessional services !! Does not reflect the 20years experience he is claiming on his Instagram account!!

Please avoid this Salon at all costs. Also i have warned all my social networks in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to avoid going there whenever they are in Cairo.
