I’ve been here twice. The first time I had a good experience and a good dip manicure. I wish I had asked the name of the first girl I had because she was great. The second time was with a different person and my experience was the opposite. When she used the electric file to take off my old dip polish, she filed off my skin on two different fingers. When I winced she didn’t apologize, clean the blood, or even acknowledge that it had happened. When I left my nails (dip polish) looked good, but only one week later the top coat started peeling off. Normally dip nails last me 3-4 weeks so I’m annoyed that it only looked good for one week this time. I’m afraid to go back now a 3rd time because I don’t know the names of who to ask for and who to avoid.

I had a really good time at Timberline. I usually come up to Fort Collins every week from Co Springs to visit my boyfriend. This weekend I was like “why not, I’ll get my nails done”.

I called Timberline nails and that same day they were able to take me in for an appointment. I checked out their reviews before-hand and saw that their more recent photos included some highly decorative, well-crafted nails.

The guy I talked to on the phone was super nice. When I walked in to the salon they were a little busy but I was still greeted with a warm welcome. I quickly checked in and a few minutes later was seated for my appointment.

My nail tech Jessica was really nice, however I wish more salons did a manicure or more of an actual prep of the nails prior to applying acrylics or dip. The skin around my nails still looked a little beat up when my nails were finished. However I would definitely go back. I asked for a full set of acrylics with French tips. It probably took me about 45 minutes to get them done which was great.

I do feel as though there is a bit of a language barrier whenever I do go to salons to get my nails done. I mentioned wanting to change my nail tip structure to an almond shape, instead of the short coffin but I don’t think my nail tech understood what I meant. Then again, I was wearing mask so she might not have heard me. I didn’t push for almond anyway since once she made them into coffins, they actually looked really nice.

I appreciated how my nail tech made sure to clean under my nails once she had finished shaping. Some techs forget that and you’re left with sharp edges and pieces of nail gunk under your nails.

There we some moments when the drill she was using got a little too hot and sort of nicked the skin but not enough to draw blood. I felt like towards the end of my appointment, she was rushing so that could have caused her to rush with the filing.

Overall: nails came out pretty well. I would go there again. My tech appeared to pay attention to detail when applying my nails. However the shop didn’t necessarily radiate cleanliness in terms of tools and individual tech stations.

Run away. Go anywhere else. I spent $200 and tipped $20 and felt awful as we left. I brought my three daughters for kids’ mani and pedi services and they received sloppy polish, my oldest daughter was charged as an adult even though she is ELEVEN, and when my youngest bumped her thumbnail and we asked if it could be fixed, the male technician literally YELLED “NO” and got in a fight with the receptionist, making us feel worse. The blue/green color I picked out was somehow expired so the lady doing my nails just painted my toes orangey neon instead.
Honestly, for the amount of money I paid I would expect at least a minimum amount of kindness or conversation from the staff, but I honestly felt like they didn’t want my business and they wanted us to have a bad experience. It was nearly two hours for the four of us and nobody offered us water or any beverages, despite a giant cooler up front with a sign “complementary for CUSTOMERS ONLY”.
Confusing, Sad, Slow service. Go anywhere else.

I just moved to Fort Collins and Timberline Nails was recommended to me. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the service here, as well as my overall experience.

First off, my nail tech, Tom, began cutting my nails right away without asking if I wanted to keep my current length. I was getting dip powder with tips, but I already had dip powder and tips on, so I did not appreciate this. Next, once my nails were cut down, he put my hands in bags of acetone to remove the dip powder. I’ve been to several nail salons and this is not the proper way to remove dip. My hands and fingers are still very dry and a bit numb from this.

When it was time to put the tips on, my nail tech argued with me about the length. I asked for them to be shorter several times, and they still are not the length I would like. Also, once the tips were on and my nail tech was filing my nails, he used his fingernails to push the skin back, instead of a sterile tool. This was not only painful, but unsanitary.

The overall manicure job was less than ideal. It seemed like my nail tech was rushing, yet it still took an hour and a half. As a result of this, one of my fingers was cut just under the nail. As for my nails, the color is very different than how it looked in the display, and many of my nails are crooked.

I like to give every salon an equal chance, but I will not be visiting Timberline Nails again. The prices are far too high for the low service level.

I have been looking for a consistent nail tech since I got to Colorado and Chloe is the one! She is on time, efficient, and high quality. Each set is better than the last and exactly what I want each time. Highly recommend!
