Resort is a very generous term for the Margate. Stayed for two nights and attended a wedding. The grounds were beautiful and the staff were friendly and helpful, but I was ultimately unimpressed by the facilities and service. My room was full of gnats, water bugs and moths. The carpets were coming up in areas and the wallpaper was peeling from the walls. Food was bad, drinks were worse. The facilities are not well maintained and are poorly run. Service staff clearly had very little support from management. On a weekend in which this “resort” was hosting at least 3 weddings, the General Manager was not even present on site to handle guest issues upon check out. Overall, I found the pricing did not match the accommodations provided. While I enjoyed the scenic and gorgeous location, I would not spend my money (about $300/night) to return to the Margate.

We went for bike week and it ended up to be the best trip ever due to The Margate. The staff was great and well managed a crowd. They have 24 hour security so we slept easy at night knowing our bikes were safe. The only complaint we had was one night we were there the kitchen decided to close a half hour early which was no big deal because there was plenty of places walking distance. However for the inconvenience they gave our group a free breakfast buffet which made up for it for sure. Special thanks to Sage for making this the greatest trip ever! See you next year.

I went with my kiddos over April vacation. The staff and location were great. The indoor pool and hot tub were amazing! By far the best I’ve ever seen in a hotel. But our room was a bit outdated, but clean. They were currently renovating the bottom floor of our building so hopefully the remainder of the rooms will be completed and look much nicer. The main building where you check in is beautiful. Having access to the beach is fantastic. It was too cold to swim still but we walked on the little beach and the docks. I would stay here again, just maybe in a different room.

What’s not to like? I mean yea, the room and the furniture was a little dated but the nice girl at the front desk was strait up with us there are renovations going on in the building so be aware. We had the second floor with a nice view of people ice fishing on the lake. The Pool was clean as was the jacuzzi and the awesome sauna was nice and hot! I personally loved it and would love to check it out during the summer to be able to chill on the lake. One thing I will say is I wished the game room was open at the time of my stay would loved to play some games at the resort and filled some machines with quarters. I have stayed at so many places from N.Conway to every hotel, motel, and cottage, you name it. If the price is right I have no problem staying an the Margate Resort. Thank You for your hospitality.
