I decided to give this place a try again, because I live so close. I booked an appointment a few days ago ONLINE for 8am today. When I got there, two vehicles were in the front of the building, lights off on the front but the barbershop was open in the back, TV on and someone moving around, which I suppose couldn’t hear my banging on the door . I decided to call the number on the door, in which the “owner” answered. I said “Good Morning, I have a haircut scheduled for 8am today a few days ago online.” He said “What is the service for?” I told him a haircut. The connection was blurry, but he walked to the door and I left my car to speak with him.
Probably the worst mistake I made, he lets me in, holds onto the door handle while firmly saying “you know you can’t even book here online. Lemme break it down to you like this, you can not boom with me or one of my barbers. See it’s only 8am and if you look at my books I have a lot of ppl coming in, this here is early. If I go to the site, it the only one that booked bc you can’t do that…” I stop him and apologized saying I was able to book and willing to leave, he begins to get more upset and says “you don’t get it.. and I have other rules too” as he begins to point to a paper and tells me to come on back…
Now, it’s time for me to go. If he isn’t professional enough to try and rectify the issue that he claimed has happened to others, while yelling at me, trying to explain rules, I’m cool. There are a lot of shops around here that have a lil professionalism in them and understand that “explaining/yelling at” a new customer about something that’s THEIR fault as the owner isn’t the way.
I asked him to unlock the door, as the first time he said “What?” second time he kept explaining , third time I told him I wanted to leave… Never again.
He bragged about it to his friends and classmates in Indianapolis where he lives. Thank you Sam for your kindness.
