I’ve been coming here for a while now, and they’re very kind and friendly, Sophia gives a fantastic massage, but the quality of pedicure I received today surprised and disappointed me. There’s nail polish on the skin around the nails, while the nails themselves aren’t fully covered – especially at the front edges, the polish is uneven. I’m not very good at painting my own nails, but this had me wondering if I should just clip and paint my own nails in the future. Unfortunately, I only really looked at them after they finished drying and I didn’t want to come off as a “karen” by saying something at that point. I would give 2 stars for this pedicure if not for the fact that they’re very kind and Sophia generally provides great service.

I recently got a gel manicure and pedicure on 8 February 2024. The pedicure still looks beautiful but my manicure looks terrible and is starting to peel and crack. It’s only been 7 days.

I have been going to south street for almost a decade, faithfully! The service is immaculate, they are patient you never feel rushed and they are soooo clean! The price is amazing especially in rittenhouse/graduate area. I always get dip gel and have never had a problem. My nails are healthy and strong. The dip lasts me about a mnth. Honestly they are the best and once you become a regular they will remember you. I always get the same style/color D25 or C25. Love love love South street nails! 🥰🥰

To be fair, I’ve been here about three times in the past and had a fair experience. Today’s service was terrible. The woman servicing rushed and lacked attention to detail. The skin around my nails were left. My cuticles were barely cut yet she managed to snip me. The polish was uneven and left a subtle look once dried as well as excess polish around the trim. As for customer service, it appeared stiff and cold. Definitely not the EXPERIENCE or service I was looking for. Tried, tested, and not approved.

I got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. Decided to give this spot a try, but the end product was lacking quality. The polish on my toes were not shiny and looks like the employee’s apron touched the wet polish, so the surface is textured and not smooth and shiny. Didn’t notice it until I got home sadly. I grow out my nails naturally, so my nails are thin without the polish. The employee was very heavy handed, and they use the drill to remove the gel polish. She used the drill at a certain spot more than once on my naked nail, and i got drill burn. She they asked me if that hurt, I said yes. And she put the drill on her hand, and said “that doesn’t hurt.” I thought that was a bit weird and a nail tech should know it was drill burn… plus it was on my nail bed and she put it on her skin. Anyway… she asked me if I had 3 coats when i had my last manicure… i told her i didn’t know since its been awhile since i got my nails done, and she thought it was funny that i didn’t know. The end result of my manicure was: polish on my skin, missing polish on some areas of my nail bed, gel polish globs under my nails, nail shaped in random shapes… seems like a mixture of almond and square. Overall not a great job and honestly a bit sloppy and over priced based on quality. It was a plus that they took tips by credit card, since a lot of nail salons only do cash tips. But that seems to be the only real highlight for me here.
