My little sister went to get her hair done for a wedding this past month. She asked for the style on the left, which is nothing impossible to do. The result on the right is what she got. She had spoken up multiple times to adjust the style since it was more of a bun and not a twist. Although the stylist asked if she liked it, she didn’t really make much change to what my sister wanted and had insisted for. My sister was visibly upset and in tears, and my mom had to call and ask for the owner to make it right. Not only did the owner gaslight my sister saying she should’ve spoken up, she also made a bold statement saying “some people like these curls.” I’m not sure WHO in their right mind would be ok with these frizzy, barely there curls. The fact that the owner would even support this type of work in her salon is beyond me. But I’m also not surprised since I haven’t heard good things about Serenity’s customer service. My sister left there with her hair looking mediocre. Terrible work and terrible service! I guess they are content with below average styling. We won’t be going back again.

It pains me so much to leave a bad review, but my experience was very terrible here. Back in December of 2020, as I was Christmas shopping, I purchased a One Hour $140 couple’s massage gift card for my boyfriend. It was one of my favorite gifts that I couldn’t wait for him to open. We unfortunately contracted Covid and started out 2021 sick, so I waited a couple weeks to schedule anything. Come end of January, I give them a call and am not able to get in until April 3. Ok, I get it. Things with the Pandemic are a little slower so I can be patient.

Come April 2nd, I get a call from the salon that they had some staff quit on them so they cannot do our massage. To reschedule, we’d have to wait ANOTHER month. After having been sick, off work, going through some stressful things, we were very much looking forward to our massage. We planned a whole day around it, and it was going to be a special date day, something we hadn’t done together yet. This derailed all of that. They pretty much begged me not to get a refund and were pretty rude about it.

Anyway, we wait a couple of weeks (was out of town, working, etc) and we show up to the salon get the refund and they say they can’t help me. The manager is the only one who can do it and she’s on vacation. Ok. A week and a half later I get a call from the manager about the refund. She is super rude and short with me and said to go in any time and whoever is there can help me.

So now today, I am going in for my refund, and it is May 20. I purchased this gift card back in December. The lack of apologies and lack of empathy, lack of willingness to help us is extremely disappointing. I feel like we were probably saved from a mediocre experience anyway, considering all the attitudes and negative vibes I received from the employees.

We have yet to get a couple’s massage. So thank you for ruining this experience for us. I am looking for a different salon who will hopefully love the fact that we desire their services and will give us an experience we will remember for years to come.
