Customer Reviews:
I politely asked the man 2-3 times to please make my nails “as short as possible.” Even after my polite requests I ended up with the nails in picture the below. I asked him again “could we please go shorter?” To which he responded “No, it is not possible without hurting you.” I then said, “Sir, I always get my nails done here and leave with much shorter nails. I am a teacher and I prefer to keep them short.” He then tossed the nail file at me and said “then do it yourself.” He got up and walked away. I was dumbfounded and I proceeded to file one hand shorter to show him as an example. He returned and I asked if he could make my other hand match and he once again said, “no, do it yourself.”
I was obviously shocked. Everyone around me was visibly uncomfortable. The women seated next to me urged me to talk with the manager. I spoke with John, the manager, I was visibly upset and shaken and asked if I could come back at another time. Which I will NOT be doing. So I left with incomplete nails and tears in my eyes.
I am very disappointed and will have to find another nail salon on James Island.
***edit**** these nails lasted 9 days and when I came back to get them fixed I was met with attitude and got blamed and got told bc I’m tapping at work that’s why they are lifting… I don’t work an office job btw or any “nail tapping jobs” 😂 also got told it’s normal that with clear top acrylic to see lifting. 🧐 I’m sorry but paying $100 for these to lift and pop after 9 days is insane…
Today I came in and had someone new perform a dip manicure. She had a bad cold and/or was visibly struggling with the smell or residue from the dip because her nose and upper lip was full of mucus and sweat. She was having a hard time focusing due to this and finally I politely encouraged her to use the paper towel roll at her station to wipe her nose. She wiped her nose, threw the dirty paper towel back in the cart, and rather than washing her hands after, she quickly grabbed my hands and continued to conduct the manicure. This proceeded two more times, however, those last two times she wiped her nose and the dripping mucus with her bare hands. She then grabbed my hands again to complete the manicure.
No gloves were ever used and it took nearly two hours for her to complete the manicure.
