My 10yo daughter stayed a weekend at her grandmothers who took her to get her nails done and unfortunately let her get acrylic nails. When I realized this, I took her to Relaxed Nails to get the acrylics removed. When I walked in, I asked them to please soak them off (which is what you’re ALWAYS supposed to do— I didn’t even need to ask but I did so just in case) and then just do a regular gel manicure. Instead of soaking them off, the technician ripped the acrylic nails off of my daughter’s fingers and while my daughter kept wincing in pain, she kept going finger after finger. She didn’t even use any proper tools. She used an actual nail extension to dig underneath the acrylic and rip the nail off. I was there, but my back was to her so I had no idea what was going on and my too shy to speak up for herself daughter didn’t say anything. Absolutely inexcusable. I am horrified that a person would put a child through that process and not even bat an eye. I’ve been going to Relaxed since before my daughter was born. To say I’m deeply disappointed is a massive understatement. Needless to say we will not be returning. And I truly hope this particular technician never works with a child again.

This was the finished work that I got today, what I oedi was an acrylic nail to cover imperfections in shape and color of my nail. I actually feel sad because I don’t know how it is possible for a professional in a professional nail salon to offer this type of service. I didn’t mind paying more but getting what I wanted.

Jackie is hands down the best manicurist in the city! She is incredibly talented, kind and careful with my nails. My manicures are consistently perfect!

Normally good but yesterday I had the worst gel manicure ever at this salon. My nails, cuticles and even the tops of my fingers have been damaged by the lack of skill of the manicurist. It will take at least a month for my nails and hands to recover from the trauma as well as from the experience. The manicurist was brutal, utterly lacking in skillful care, and unable to successfully communicate about my preferences, which were repeatedly ignored. She seemed adept at complaining apparently about me to her counterparts in their native and alienating language. Today I am devastated as the ruination is evident. I have had it with Relaxed Nails, now and forever. It used to be my go to salon but it’s become increasingly dirty, chaotic and the ventilation is unacceptable.

I have been going to this salon for one year, everytime was great. Today did it for me, the appointment had not been written. The time spent on manicure and pedicure was so little it was horrible. When it came time to leave the women went crazy calling the woman that took care of me, while they asked 3 times if I had paid. I felt treated like I was a thief, furthermore when they saw I paid they demanded a tip in Venmo – but cash would be preferred. Really it was insulting and low the way they attack you to get a tip. Tip is defined as a thank you for a good service, not chase the customer and demand more money. Im done with this place, and I hope you dont go, youll be spending money that I am sure will be better invested at another salon. NOTE: expect rude rude women, they speak in their native language about you in your face- that is not somethiing you want when you get a manicure
