Customer Reviews:
Sadly I did not have a great experience there yesterday and really struggled with whether or not to leave this review, as the damage done to me was more careless than malicious.
I went into the salon having had the most horrible week. I was feeling the lowest of the low, or so I thought. I got my first manicure in 20 years, thinking that maybe a little self care was just what I needed.
The original gal doing my nails (let’s call her OG) didn’t approve of the colour I wanted to do my nails and suggested another colour. Strike one to my ego – my happy colour wasn’t good enough.
When we sat down at the station she looked at my short nails and asked if I wanted a manicure or just polish and I said manicure. She looked put-off. Strike two to my ego – I wasn’t worth the time to get the service I was paying for.
OG buffed my nails and trimmed my cuticles. As she starts putting on the teal polish, someone who was obviously one of her regulars walked through the door. She called out “2 mins! I be there in 2 mins!” I then had what I think was the fastest manicure on the planet. One coat of teal, one coat of sparkles and one coat of topcoat were applied in less than 2 minutes. After a less than 15 second hand massage OG set up a fan, told me not to touch anything, and left. Strike three to my ego – OG just proved that my feelings of worthlessness were right on the money.
About 5 mins in I had an itch on my nose. While scratching it quickly I must have bumped a nail. About 10 mins later the gal greeting guests came to put some yellow oil on my cuticles. She noticed that one finger was a little smudged and called OG over to fix it. At this point I had been in front of the fan for 10-15 mins and it was good and hard. Rather than fix it, or fill the smudge with the teal, OG just put on some glitter after chiding me gently for bumping it, and left again.
About 10 mins later yet another gal checked on me and said I could go.
I went to the car and cried for 15 mins while I waited for my companion to join me.
I went into Princess Nails yesterday thinking I couldn’t feel any worse about myself. I left there knowing that I was wrong, and I could and did get worse. Sad to say I won’t be going back. I could have felt awful for much less than the $35 I paid that day, including the tip that wasn’t deserved but there was no “no tip” option on the debit terminal.
