Onyx Salon in Portland

I am obsessed 🤩 this has been the best place in Portland for nails. The owner and nail techs are all wonderful and listen to your desires for perfect nails. If you want to get a design, request it when you make an appointment and bring a picture for reference! One of the best things they do, is placing black gloves on your hands to protect your skin from the LED light! I highly recommend! 😊 (they also have massage chairs for your plus ones to hang out while you get your nails done!)

My first time here and I had a wonderful experience. The salon is lovely and cozy! I asked for a simple almond acrylic and my nail tech BB made sure I liked how it was coming along throughout the process. These are the best acrylic nails I’ve had in years, I’m super happy with them and looking forward to doing more creative nails here with her in the future!

When you book an appointment at a expensive nail salon you expect them to do a good job however that was not the experience I had. I went to get my nails done for my wedding. The nail tech struggled to file my nails the correct shape so after a while another woman came and took over to show her out to do it. By the time she was done my nails were shorter than I wanted which wasn’t the biggest deal. The other girl who didn’t really know what she was doing took back over and she didn’t file the tops enough so they look like of bubbly. Also when I picked out my nail color swatch which was a rose gold color and she told me that it was color changing and that they would turn silver if I still my hand in hot water, and even though I didn’t want silver nails (doesn’t match my dress) I agreed that was fine since I wasn’t going to be sticking my nails in water at the wedding. However after she painted them I noticed that the opposite was the case, that they would always be silver unless my hands in water. When I told her that, she insisted it was silver from the infrared light told me that it would change to the color I wanted after. so I leave and they stay silver always unless my hands are in water. So on my wedding day, a day where people are constantly looking at your hands, I had ugly horribly done nails in the wrong color. Don’t go here, seriously unprofessional, there a much better places to get your nails done for more reasonable pricing

Im aways so skeptical about going to new salons. I’m a licensed cosmetologist and I typically do my own nails because I’m so picky! However Onyx Salon was great!! The nail service was amazing, they paid attention to detail and perfected my shape (which I’m the most picky about) The atmosphere is so comfortable and cozy! And honestly they won me over with the complimentary wine! I will def be back!

Onyx Salon is fantastic – I’ve been getting pedis, manis, etc. from them for years. The staff is conscientious, everything is super clean, and the new location on Westover is stunning.
