This mall is slowly dying. Each time I visit there are more and more empty storefronts. Many of the stores still exist in Ames, but have moved to new strip malls. As of today Planet Fitness (workout gym) takes up most of the store space, and JCPennys is the only anchor store left. The women’s bathroom had several maintenance issues and none of the mall entrance or bathroom doors were ADA friendly.

I give this mall 5 stars, because it has both a JC Penney AND a Hallmark store, both are hard to find these days. There’s quite a few stores in this smallish mall, I can always find what I came for. Worth my one hour drive to get there.

This place is so empty that being in it feels awkward. Half the storefronts are closed. It is a nice place though. It’s clean. I miss the fountain they used to have here, but that’s okay.

It’s nice to come to for the few main-stays that are here, like JC Penny, Planet Fitness, and Jimmy Johns. One place I refommend the most though are Inside Golf, which has golf similators, a bar, pool tables, axe throwing, and bowling. I won a Mario Kart competition there once, but I’m not sure if they still have the Nintendo hooked up there. It’s a good place to have a good time.

The other place I strongly recommend is Cookies Etc. The best cookies I’ve ever had and they cost even dollar amounts. They’ve been there for decades and I hope they never go out of business. I get a cookie there every time I come to this mall.

The mall is pretty empty anymore. Not much to recommend. There is nothing wrong with the stores that are left. Decent entertainment available for a price. Just a meh experience overall. Feels like a fading concept.

Not much here. Sure the building is alright and doesn’t look too bad. They struggle to keep any stores.
