The other day I stopped at the store for my nails and had a bad experience with the woman who served me (claimed she was an employee) and seemed to be alone at the store. Natalie nor her husband, the owners, were not there. As I approached to pay her, she would not allow me to go to my car just outside the store to get the money I needed to pay and get back change of $15 from her. She caught me by my collar and demanded she wanted the exact change. I asked her where the owner, Natalie, was. She refused to respond. Since she and I were alone at the store, I was frightened. Luckily, I had the exact amount on me and gave it to her. She did not give me any receipt nor did she show me any proof that a transaction took place.

I went back to the store a few days later to check where the owner was. She did not respond. Another customer in the store told me that she is the new owner. Since I wanted to hear directly from the woman, I kept asking whether si is the new owner or where is the owner, Natlie. At that point, the woman yelled and came running towards saying that she is the owner, etc. I left the store. The moral of the story is to be careful of this new owner. She is using the voice mail of Natlie, and consumers are assuming the earlier Google reviews belong to her. She is much more than rude. Do not be alone in the store with her. Do not open your wallet under her eyes, and do ask for a receipt

I wish you were in Chicago!! I wish I could have posted before pictures!! I ended up at this salon because the day before I had gone to a different salon that was just a little bit closer to me at the time. BIG MISTAKE !!
I’m so glad I found you!! Do you see the grow out! Perfect no damage to my nails and no broken nails either. Yes I know it’s time for a fill. One day hopefully I’ll be back if I’m in the area! She was so nice and personable ❤️ Thank you for your kindness and service.

The owner, Natalie is always warm, gracious and conversant with my mom, a consistent customer. Usually, I’ll stay with mom but sometimes I’ll run an errand or two. The shop is just small enough, just busy enough that we are in and out for one pedicure no more than 45 minutes, as walk-ins It’s a Friday and rush hour no less! Prices are reasonable and moderate. Whatever you call your fav shop is almost irrelevant as long as you are treated fairly, kindly and with respect. This shop has been here 5 years and it has been upgraded and reinvested in. The four stars is due to not putting the plastic bag in the tub of water for sanitary hygiene. I know most shops do not use a plastic filter, bag as extra protection and I assume the discontinuation was due to cost effectiveness. I did not ask her. A young man was happily massaging Mom’s calf and foot, she complimented on the nice fragrance of the scrub.
Yes, I do recommend “New York nails”, the owner has two beautiful children and she works long tedious hours to provide a Quality of Life for her family as well as good customer service.

Great value! Take advantage of making appointments for their 9:00 AM slots on Fridays/Saturdays and beating the crowds. Don’t forget to splurge for the Super Deluxe Pedicure. It’s a wonderful experience.

I was hesitate to go to a new nail salon at first… but Natalie did a fantastic job! She was very sweet and took her time to make sure I got want I wanted. I would recommend.
