Nails Studio

I went here for my first set of acrylic nails. I had a color idea, but after the nail tech showed me how it would look (on other nails) we changed to green-fade-to-white. He was very careful and focused on each nail. The finished product looked incredible and they’re still in perfect shape 2 weeks later! I’ll be back!

I feel like I was over charged because the original nail tech didn’t understand the assignment, which led to having to remove all the tips and placing new ones. (For this specific style I needed clear tips instead of the regular tips) Total time for a full set (I did not have a set on before hand) was 3 hours! Hanna was able to understand what I wanted and EXECUTED it 1000000% ! The first tech did TRY and once they realized they weren’t able to do what I needed they handed me over to someone who did. I only gave 3 stars because of the price especially when it was supposed to be 10% off because of the time. Other than that I definitely recommend going here.

I don’t like leaving negative reviews, and I’m sure this review won’t change much anyway, but I’m incredibly disappointed with my experience at this salon. I called to ensure that they offer deluxe manicures before making an appointment. I was told that they do offer deluxe manicures, so I made the appointment. I had old polish that needed soaked off, but instead of letting the polish completely soak off, it was aggressively sanded off and my natural nails were damaged during the process. After the sanding, I wasn’t even asked to wash my hands before the new polish was painted on. There was not any attention to detail to ensure my nails were completely clean and prepared before they got painted. Also, nothing about this manicure was deluxe. I was expecting for my nails to be soaked to soften cuticles, receive cuticle work, have my nails clipped and filed, and lotion to be applied once completed. However, none of that happened, literally none of that. My old polish was removed and the new polish was applied, that was it. I was even more annoyed when the nail tech decided she didn’t like the color I chose, so she took it upon herself to use a different color, one that was conveniently already on her table. After all that, there was no attention to detail while painting my nails, they were painting very quickly, appeared streaky once they were done, and nail polish that ran onto my skin was not removed before being cured under the lamp. It has been 5 days since this manicure, and every single nail is now chipped, several were chipped just 3-4 days later. I’ve never had gel polish chip less than a week later. I want to note that I’ve being seeing the same nail tech for 5 years, she used to own this salon, but has since moved to a new salon. I did follow her to her new salon, but I had a gift certificate from Nails Studio that needed to be used. I decided to at least give the new owners a chance and not let the gift certificate go to waste, but now wish I would’ve just given the gift certificate to someone else. I would rather not have my nails done at all than to have my nails damaged and sloppily painted. I’m sure there are nail techs at this salon that do an incredible job, but my experience was nothing more than a waste of time.

Really loved the job at Nail Studio. They we’re friendly and took their time. I believe I’ve finally found a nail salon I continue to use.

I’ve been to almost every nail salon in Bloomington and this is my favorite. They’re very friendly! All around a warm and clean environment. They take their time and make sure to please their clientele. You can tell most customers are regulars. I won’t be going anywhere else. Kevin is amazing.
