The best of the best in Hoboken. I moved out of state and so sad I can’t bring this salon with me. I religiously saw Sun every 2 weeks for about 4-5 years and she never missed. She has attention to detail and she’s truly so talented at her craft. I would do the UV gel (hard gel/builder gel) and a gel pedicure (Blanca is my fave for pedis). You will not regret booking with Sun!

I had an amazing experience at this spa. I personally had Blanca and she was incredibly thorough with the full spa treatment that I paid for and I’m loving my nails. Prices are also on par with locations outside the city, so it was nice to see here. Photos of prices as of 05/22/2023

I have been a long time customer of this nail salon and sadly I will not return.
I dropped my elderly mom off to get her nails done and when I returned to pick her up I was greeted by the owner demanding my mom tip his employee more than what she had already tipped. I found this so strange since every other time I had dropped my mom off I’ve paid and tipped when I arrived to pick her up. She doesn’t really know how grossly expensive this place is and so when she tipped she only gave about $7.
I always tip 20% and I found it incredibly rude that he met me outside to complain about this.
Maybe he should pay his workers a living wage and not demand anything of his customers.
When I expressed how disappointing it was to arrive to a place I’ve patronized for years and be approached that way he dismissed me and just charged my card an additional $20.
Not only has this place lost me and my mom as customers, but several others that I have shared this with. I do want to say that the nail techs are really good, the prices are out of control high, and the management often is rude.

Upon arrival I was told to wash my hands. (Even though I was only getting a pedicure) The tech said it was a practice they still follow as a precaution and that I should do it before picking a polish color. So for sanitation purposes, I followed directions.

They sat me next to my brother, which was nice. We were getting birthday pedicures! Both his and my service providers were really nice and gave really good massages.

We did upgrade to the 2nd tier (spa pedicure, which includes an extra 10min massage, paraffin and a mask) it was $50.

Though timed, I didn’t feel rushed. And my toes looked so cute in the end. I will definitely be back for a pedicure in the future.

Warning!! Horrible business rules. Agree with another reviewer that this place has become a nail factory and doesn’t care about their bad quality.

For context, I’ve been loyal to this place for gel manicures. In the past, the quality for has been generally good with a couple bad manicures due to poor shaping, filing the nail down too much with the machine, or color distribution. I’m not too picky so I never complain, until today.

I’d gotten dip powder manicure for the first time 10 days ago before a trip. Within the first days, the SNS cracked and started to yellow. I was shocked because I was careful with them and avoided hot water, dirt/sand, and pool water. A couple days after that, it started to chip off too! I couldn’t come in until today because I was away.

I showed the receptionist the nails you see in the photo. I politely explained that I had been a loyal customer and that I knew dip manicures should last 3-4 weeks, and I asked for them to fix the nails given they’d started cracking on day 2 or 3. She looked at the horrible condition they were in and told me they would charge to fix these nails because they only cover fixes until day 7. I was willing to give them a second chance figuring maybe it was the technician error or they used an old product. What business would think it’s acceptable to charge to fix such a terrible service?

Apparently I was too patient with Modern! Shameful. When they didn’t take accountability for their terrible job, I went a few blocks down Washington street to another salon that took their time, gently removed with a nail file instead of a machine, gave a beautiful replacement dip, and charged less than the original that I got here 10 days ago. Mistakes were made here, but never again! Goodbye Modern!
