Asked for long almond shaped nails and got charged $62 for round thick bumpy circles. When I went back to see if someone could fix them, they told me my nails looked this way because my fingers are wider than the inspo pic I showed. Went home and tried to reshape them myself but they’re so short and lumpy I will probably just go somewhere else to get them removed.

I had Tran do my nail fix, refill and design and it was one of the best fills I have gotten! I had to change my appt 3 times due to my job and Mod Spa was super accommodating and even tried to get me out for the door with no wait time because they knew I had meetings at work. Tran was friendly and I showed him a very detailed design that required a couple different colors. He looked at the picture and matched it PERFECTLY! He was so detailed oriented and ensured everything was perfect before moving to the next step. I love them!! Pictures attached

I wasn’t going to leave this review, but after cleaning some dishes today and having my cuticle bleed, I think something needs to be said. When I was looking for a place to get my nails done, I specifically chose this place because when I think of spa, I think of relaxation and calm. I didn’t receive that here. I left the place sweating and anxious over what else may hurt me. It honestly felt like the technician was still learning how to do nails as he was pretty rough with mine and kept making mistakes with my color. It also felt like an eternity being there. It took him 2 hours to take off my acrylic nails and put on gel polish.

But anyway, the details of my pain are as follows:
1. When the technician started to take off my acrylic nails, he started drilling at my first finger and was rather aggressive with it causing me to recoil back in pain. He apologized and continued onto the rest of my nails going more gently.
2. On to the manicure, it was going as well as it could’ve gone until he pulled out the cuticle clippers. He did the first 4 nails fine, but when he got to my thumb, he cut me and I started bleeding. I was in a lot of pain and have been for these last couple days.

I hate writing negative reviews, and I feel bad even now typing this but I’ve danced around the idea of never going back to this place for fear that I may get this technician again and get hurt a second time. I love the color of my nails but the pain has me torn. I think a lesson on nail etiquette would be ideal for the technicians so they can practice being more gentle on customers’ hands.

I have been coming to Mod Day Spa for 4 years and have loved it in the past. I was recently there 10-19-23, for a full set & a pedicure and an experience that I feel needs to be addressed.

My nails were done beautifully & then it was time for my pedicure. Nancy did my pedicure & she did a great job, however… the entire time she was doing it… she was trying to sell me on an herbal tea for weight loss. She kept saying it was good for me to loose weight. Now I realize that I am a heavier person, but to be honest… I felt this was to the point of fat shaming… it was not just a small conversation… it was the entire time she did my pedicure, all 45 mins of me hearing how I should buy this tea wholesale from her to loose weight and that I need to loose weight & be healther!

I want owners a message on Facebook that has to date been ignored. I don’t come there to feel bad about my weight, I come there to do things to make me feel better about myself!!!

Do yourselves a favor and find a better place! I sure have!
