It has been really difficult for me to find a nail salon that can do a great job at dip. Many times it’s too thick, they shape the nail weird, they crack or chip right away etc. Today I was recommended to go to Mio by a good friend and I did – I was pleasantly surprised! Cindy did an amazing job on my nails! Thin, long, shaped great and she was friendly and quick! I’ll be back for sure!

I don’t even want to make this review, but I have to because it’s just unacceptable. The communication involved. I called to make an appointment for an acrylic manicure I was a little late I let them know when I got there. I was given the option to do gel X, I said gel, but I did not think It would be not acrylic, I thought they would put a gel nail polish on the Acrylic nail Instead of normal nail polish.
By the time the lady finished gluing on the nail and was about to put on the nail polish, I was confused, and asked about the acrylic and they let me know that I chose Gel X. I let them know that I did not know that this would mean there would be no acrylic and I complained about the look of my nails they looked really frail and unappealing. The manager told me that they look great and natural, but I am not agreeing, because I do not like the look of it at all.
The manager let me know that I can either put acrylic on the nail with gel, even though they made it sound really difficult to do, or takeoff the nail, and put on acrylic again.

Instead, the lady took off all the nails and walked away and the manager told me to have a nice day . I felt like I pissed them off and they were kicking me out because of it . If they had told me that they would not put on acrylic, I would have continued with the gel. But the way that they acted after that was just weird, and they were speaking in their own language, and while that’s great at all as an Arab, I know that means that they’re not happy with you. I told the manager that I would have continued with the gel X if they were just not gonna do my nails, she looked at me like she wants to close the door in my face and offered to book for tomorrow. not coming back .

I really appreciate this nail salon! I’ve been going here since I moved to HB around 4 years ago. They are always friendly and helpful when trying to understand my visions for the nail art. This was my first square set with Cindy, she did a great job and was willing to explain the differences between gel builder, gel x, acrylic etc. Def recommend this place. Also they won’t make you wait longer than 3 minutes to seat you for an appointment 💕

Im a 47 year old straight man with a girlfriend and two kids . An Actor and creator with a massive global following that likes to express my self in various ways . I appreciate a good manicure but sometimes i like to have fun and maybe paint 4 out of my 10 finger nails . J gave me a great first experience there without no judgment . .Unfortunately the last time i called in for a last minute appointment she wasn’t available so i booked with another technician that barely spoke any English but one thing i did notice was that she and her piers were discriminatory towards me with rude homophonic comments because i chose black color on 4 of my nails . They made me very uncomfortable so this is the reason for my post . Im going to call these people one more time for an appointment but if they chose to do the same im going to empower their business by bringing light to this . I pay a lot of money for this process that is a luxury but they should be trained way better in handling clients before they catch a discriminatory law suit . It is NOT ok for you to mock clients like me that pay a premium for this process and are excellent tippers . The discriminatory comment was in English by the way . We all know you mock us when you speak your native language around us . SMH 🤦‍♂️ anyways great work they do but we need less judgment when handling clients like me that arre different .

I was also changed one price the first time and a higher price the second time for the same work .

I’ve been going here every month for two years going on three years straight, and for the most part they’ve always been amazing, but the last time I went I spent $260+ for my friend and I to get our new set of acrylics and a pedicure, so far (not even a week yet) my friends nails lifted and came off and my nails are chipping and lifting, I called them and I got no response back. Also for my pedicure my toes are already chipping.(my friend and I both got gel for our pedicure and for our acrylics.
Just VERY disappointing since I’ve been going here for YEARS.
