I was looking forward to a non-toxic hardening manicure and pedicure experience. The employees were kind and the place was beautiful however i was disappointed with the nail application. The tech was very nice and careful but the mani/pedi took over 2 hours and some areas of my nails were not covered with polish. In addition, I was not informed in advanced that there was a surcharge of $20 ($10 Manicure and $10 pedicure) for the long lasting nail polish that by the way is $20 per bottle online. Day 2 and my nails are chipping. I paid $140 and unfortunately wouldn’t return.

The ladies were very sweet and nice but I was not informed I would be charged an extra $10 for picking a longer lasting type of nail polish. Worse part is I picked two colors and got charged $10 for each! This is on top of an already $100 service without tip. I assume this is standard but I was not informed beforehand and felt blindsided at the end of my appointment. The pedicure setup is also not the most comfortable, and while she did do my manicure with a lot of care, I had to ask her to go over several spots on the side of my nails that she didn’t color and left me with a ton of cuticles showing. The ladies were really nice and the atmosphere is very cute but felt like my $139 payment did not match what I got.

This is my favorite neighborhood nail salon! I’ve been going for about 2 years now and always have a lovely experience. First, it’s spotless and smells great (it doesn’t have that overwhelming acetone scent like typical salons). Second, they carry one of my favorite long-lasting polish brands, Dazzle Dry. My pedicures last 4 weeks without chipping. The front desk staff and nail techs are all super kind, too. If you’re looking for a salon that specializes in a cleaner polish selection, you’ll also love this spot.

I’ve been coming to Lunula for 2 years now and started coming to the salon because I wanted to reduce my exposure to chemicals and toxins. i’ve always had a wonderful experience – the technicians are great, i love that they note the colors i used for the next time I’m in and have a variety of offerings that I can choose for. Given that I’m opting in for non-toxic nail products, they are pretty comparable in price to other salons out there with similar non-toxic availability. I’ve always left really happy with my nails!

Truly disappointed at this place, if you’re going to charge a premium of $36 at least hire people who know how to give a simple manicure. I took the train from Manhattan and had high hopes just because of other good reviews and boom I can’t even get a proper manicure. Waste of time and money just go to your local nail salon better off.
