Since my husband and I recently moved to San Diego, I’ve been on the hunt for local beauty spots to call my own. I stumbled upon Leo by Liv3 in the North Park neighborhood and thought I’d give it a whirl. The ambiance of the salon immediately caught my attention–spacious, bathed in natural light, and oh-so-chic. A refreshing contrast to the bustling University main street outside. From the moment I stepped in, the staff were nothing but welcoming, even offering a choice of beverage–water, wine, or floral tea. Naturally, I went with the floral tea.

When it came to the nail service, I opted for the TWO Manicure and the THREE Pedicure. The manicure stood out for me, especially with the quality time they took and the massage that came with it. The pedicure, however, fell a bit short–particularly when it came to the massage and a less-than-warm foot soak.

Overall, the services were decent. That said, I felt the prices were a touch steep for the experience they offered. I had hoped for a tad more luxury in the pampering department for both the manicure and pedicure. Still, if you’re after a spot with serious Instagrammable vibes, Leo by Liv might just be your place.

Victoria’s passion, knowledge, and talent for her craft leave me feeling confident with beautiful nails. She is extremely meticulous and my manicure always stays intact. I highly recommend becoming one of Victoria’s clients – you won’t regret it!

We called ahead and booked four pedicures and a little Leo pedicure. We checked in. The front desk asked us several times to confirm, we repeated several times four pedicures and a little Leo. The woman waited until all of us were done except one and then proceeded to tell us they couldn’t accommodate our fourth person. The woman then had the nerve to say, “Don’t worry we won’t make you pay for the fourth.” Well I should hope not seeing how we didn’t get a fourth pedicure. If we would have known they didn’t have the time for what we scheduled we would have left. We did not leave there feeling good. It just seemed very rude. I mean my sister was already seated at a chair with her feet in the bowl, that someone provided for her, and then was told no? Rude. Unprofessional. Will not be returning. Don’t book here if you plan to attend with someone, they apparently cannot handle more than one person at a time. I just can’t get over how cold she was to us about the whole thing with no empathy or care about us at all, and SHE is the one who made the error, at least TRY to act apologetic? Then, to top it all off the front desk girl was avoiding us when we finished, we had to WAIT around for her to finally come back to pay. They had to call the owner because she was making us wait so long and the nail tech didn’t know what to do. The front desk finally returned to finish up the transaction and tried to OVER charge us on top of it with the most intense rude attitude. I can’t believe our experience got EVEN WORSE checking out. I feel bad for this business because this girl should not be the face of ANY business. Customer facing roles are definitely NOT ideal for her.

This is the first nail salon I’ve ever been to where I felt truly comfortable and pampered. You just feel like they actually care for you and want you to feel your absolute best when you leave. In fact, calling it a nail salon feels inadequate. It’s like a wellness hub. It goes without saying that it has such a beautiful aesthetic. The attention to details makes the place. The foot bath had dried flower petals. They made me hot tea (a delicious custom blend). They didn’t have just trashy mags, but books about design, wellness, food, etc. I probably did my pedicure and massage in the wrong order, and subsequently smudged my toes during the delightful massage. They fixed them up, no problem. The owner is such a beautiful soul! Everyone just seemed happy to be here. Prices seem fair for the treatment you will receive here. I highly recommend it!

Please read VERY, VERY CAREFULLY their prices.
If you are new and you have gel in your toes they charge you to remove the old gel because it Takes “more” time if it’s not the brand they use. Just ask everything if it’s your first time with them and don’t pay $90 for a reglular (basic) pedicure like me. It’s not worrth it.
