Customer Reviews:
To start off – gel removal. She clipped my nails shorter, but so short that she nipped my skin multiple times, to the point where she looked back at my finger later and made a comment how short the nail was… when she was the one that cut it. She attempted to remove the gel nailpolish, which typically takes ~20 minutes with soaking and filing off, but the entire removal process took over 40 minutes. She was using multiple tools to remove this – particularly the spinning drill-like tool (which is normal) but she kept drilling it even past my nailpolish into my actual nail, which made me let out an “ow”. Mind you – I had absolutely no design on my previous nails.
Nail extensions – This wasn’t too bad except for the fact that the gel or “glue” she was using was too tacky that it would get stuck to her hands and transfer to mine. She also didn’t file down the top of the fake nail where a small bump lies. She pushed back my cuticles about 5 different times to the point of it turning red.
Nail polish – Usually there is a base coat on the actual fake nail, but she straight up applied the nailpolish – 2 coats and 1 top coat. It’s been less than 13 hours and my nails are already chipping – and this has never happened before at Kay’s.
Overall, I’m disappointed to write this review, and I was going to let it slide, but after seeing my nailpolish chip in less than 13 hours, I decided to write this review, so no one else will have to experience this.
I’m no expert in nail tech but I think Gina needs to do customer’s nails more gently and in a manner as if she was doing her own nails. She needs proper training on removal, nail care, extensions, and application.
I will be booking specifically with Kay in the future.
—– EDIT —–
I received a follow-up message from Kay’s Amazing Nails and a review is in place so further actions wont happen again. I am very pleased with this response and I am changing my rating to a 5 star!
Edited: I did mention them I want thick nail I myself didn’t know what it’s called but I explained her how I wanted she told that will be 10$ extra I said ok.
And I paid 10$ extra thinking it was acrylic she was talking about and the nail is not nicely done and when I told the women who did my nail to fix it she called me “picky” I am not happy with the service.
The interior was nice and clean. There were so many trendy Korean gel polishes on display!
My nail tech was kind and was able to give me the exact design i asked for. She took the time to make sure my nail shape was just how I liked it. I left extremely satisfied but they didn’t even last a week):
Got them done on a Friday, and they started lifting after the 2nd day.. I currently have one nail still standing hahaha
I do have to factor in the fact that I take hot showers and wash my dishes by hand, but I had plenty of gel nails that lasted 4 weeks regardless of what chores I do..
Typically, I wouldn’t really care if the gel polish peeled off quickly but I spent $110 (not including tip) for this set.
