Inspire Nail Bar Towson in Baltimore, MD

I went here once before and received really good work from the younger woman tech.

This time i came in to get an acrylic set but was told by the manager/owner? that gel x was better. When I asked for more information about it I was told that it was cheaper and better for them(faster). With this information I proceeded to have Kim do my nails and she did a decent job. I liked the nails she painted regularly, but she did not adequately center the design on my accent nail though and somehow didn’t notice or care despite it being an extra charge.

When it came time to check out I was charged 65 dollars and chose to give Kim an extra 10 despite being surprised at the price for such a simple design because I always tip my artist. But left feeling a little scammed.

I generally like this place but feel like I was overcharged and lied to about gel x. Also that my nail art should have been centered but that’s my bad for not speaking up.

For reference gel x is not cheaper than acrylic and from my limited research I think they don’t do fill ins on it ?? This is information that should have been clearly presented, especially for a service that I did not walk in requesting.

I would love to talk about this to someone so that information is not misrepresented in the future.

GO ANYWHERE EXCEPT FOR INSPIRE NAIL BAR IN TOWSON. I had the absolute worst experience yesterday. I had been visiting the shop for more than a year now. The female techs are typically kind. But for some unknown reason, a few had the nastiest attitudes. Let me explain…I always get a design and rhinestones on my big toes. Today, I was rudely told I could not get designs on regular polish. Most absurd thing I’ve ever heard given it’s a “full-service salon”. One of the nail techs walked away from me as I was speaking to her about my concern. The nail tech (male) whose station is near the sink is so nasty and rude. He had the nastiest attitude and absolutely no customer service skills. He was extremely rough. He cut multiple fingers during my manicure. Nails bleeding and I had to stop him to ask for alcohol. He seemed irritated and he never apologized. Never said thank you. He got smart with me when I told him how I didn’t appreciate my customer experience. I will never ever ever visit this salon. This is the last time the salon will ever receive a penny of my money. I will be calling in the morning to speak to the owner. Stay away from here. I am never one to write reviews but this salon is so incredibly horrible. I felt it was my duty to warn folks.

me and my sister went here and it was TERRIBLE. they overcharged my sister for french tips and told her half way through the service that it was an extra 40 ! they talked us into getting gelx and our nails are flimsy and see through very disappointed and VERY RUDE workers

I’m really thrown off by the high ratings that this place gets. I originally came here because there were really great reviews. Because I never get my nails done, I just wanted the simple shaping ($25) with regular polish and French tips. French tips are $8 extra. That’s fine, but I didn’t even get a base polish for the French manicure, and nobody prompted me to get one? And now looking in these reviews, someone else got a base polish for their French manicure. So I basically paid extra for a strip of white on my nails. And they make you pay before you even get the polish put on so that it doesn’t matter if they did a poor job, you are forced to pay. I don’t think the job was awful, though I did need to reshape my thumbs because they were crooked. I’m just frustrated by how expensive this was and I wasn’t even given the nail polish base as described in the $25 service. I feel a bit taken advantage of because I paid for a service I didn’t receive. It’s also very dirty inside, and they very clearly reuse the same files on other customers, which is really concerning.

I wanted to get my nails done before an important meeting tomorrow, but I knew I wouldn’t make it to my normal spot before they closed, so I gave Inspire a try as a walk-in.

I waited a bit, which was expected with no appointment, but the staff functioned well as a team to make sure no one who was waiting felt forgotten. Nancy did my nails and they’re absolutely lovely – she even caught the moment I mentally questioned if she planned to make them narrower at the top and let me know to express any thoughts because she wanted me to be happy. She wasnt heavy handed with the initial filing (I’ve had a salon cut clean through the top layer before) and checked on me during. They didn’t upcharge for things like shaping nails, and also offered complimentary water/soda/wine/mimosas, but I was content with my water bottle.

Very clean salon, great service. May have found a new normal spot. =)
