So I was happy that they took me in on such short notice without an appointment. This was the first time I had gotten my nails done in such a fast time. Well, it all comes with the a price because they were very ugly at the end. The nails were very thick and did not look feminine. I had to tell the Manager at the end and she agreed that they needed to be fixed. I told him the technician never asked me “are the nails ok?” I had to go back the following day to get a pedicure because they did not have any slots open that Friday evening. I thought my nails would be fixed the next day, but they told me that I had to come back until Monday. On Monday, I went back wasting a whole hour again of my time. One of the technicians did fix my whole hand And he took 35 minutes to fix the work that was previously done. As soon as he was putting the last coat, my index nail started coming off. He quickly put some glue and call it a day. Well the next day the nail came off halfway again. I don’t have time to go back and have them fix it , I will not go back again.

I had two visits with this location since coming back to Maryland from Pittsburgh, PA. If you are a white person, you are treated like you matter and like you should get excellent care. If you are a person of color or non-white, you are treated like someone who can’t afford the bill. I’ve seen it happen to others and experienced it myself today. I work for government IT and had to focus on my work and another obligation. I was going to do nails and toes but I was setting up an important appointment and needed to leave for it asap. I ask to pay for the service and the guy is acting like I am only asking to pay in order to see if I have enough money to pay the bill. I’ve paid $90-120 for my toes and nails in the past. But I guess $45 is going to break the bank. So, he swipes the card and the transaction goes through. He is loudly professing that the card works. Like if you don’t get out of here with that garbage. I’m blessed to make six-figures as an African American women. Please don’t judge me when you are making way less and I am treating you with more decency and respect than you deserve. Judging a book by their cover is how a girl uses her government contacts to report this salon to a local health inspector. Don’t come to this salon. The white clients were having such positive experiences. But was getting grilled like a person in a courthouse. I work with bad people daily so I’m not taking this to heart or making it a reflection of myself. Why should I when God has shown me His favor in giving me more than what these workers are able to obtain. I’m brushing it off and warning others not to waste your money here. And the work is average.

I went in to get a polish change on my toes because I recently had a pedicure at another salon about two weeks ago for a team event so I just wanted to change my polish. He proceeded to takeoff the old polish and was filing my nails into a, rounded shape when my toenails were square. I was highly upset because I had acrylic on one of my toenails. Hence it had broken so I got acrylic and the rest of my toenails were square but there was no reason to my toenails and did not request them to be shaped in a different way! Just wanted white polish on all of my toes for my birthday, but instead I have some toenails square and some toenails rounded and it is a mess and then on top of that he tried to charge me $25 for it and when I asked to see the price list it was only 20 and he proceeded to say he would take it off for me. I would be aware of this nail salon. They’re doing things that you did not ask for and I’m very upset because my birthday is coming up and this was not what I wanted. I literally just wanted to change the color! Unbelievable!

I was looking for a new, very clean salon to take my daughter to for pedicures. I found Happy Nails online and noted they were new, had many positive reviews and their price points seemed fair. I called and made an appointment for my daughter and I to get two “classic pedicures” at the same time. Thankfully we got there about 15 minutes early. We picked out our colors, waited for the technicians to arrive and were seated for our pedicures. Several ladies came in right behind us for pedicures (with an appointment) and had to wait awhile for seats and technicians to be available. Our pedicures were fine and our nails look good. However, I was definitely NOT happy when I was told what I owed them. Their website says a “Classic” pedicure is $20. So, we should have been charged $40 according to my calculations. I was told $90 — and I first I thought she was telling me $90 each. When I questioned how she came to that amount, she pointed to a brochure hanging by the register that had the price of the “Classic” pedicure whited out and replaced with $30 (a $10 increase)! She wrote down $30 (each for pedicure) PLUS $15 (each) for gel polish…. coming to a total of $90 (plus tip). The increased pedicure price would have been one thing — but if they’re charging every costumer an additional $15 to use their bottle of gel polish, they are making money hand-over-fist! They were doing a ton of business, but with practices like that I certainly hope people will think twice about returning!
