The workers are nice but the quality of work is horrible. The polish looks wavy with dips – i could do it myself at home, no top coat, the polish feels spongy/ rubbery – meaning it is a bad quality, they did not clean up under the nails after finishing so it feels that there is something stuck – very annoying. Bad for design. The lady didnt know how to do basic lines and had to call manager. He basically created his own design because he couldn’t do the opposite way. Very amateur work.

Horrible service! Do yourself a favor and don’t go to this place. The person that did my pedicure was in a rush and didn’t bother to file down the existing acrylic from my nails or to buff them out before applying new color even after charging extra for it. She took off after coloring my nails to attend to another customer while I wait for her. She returns after a while to tell me that I’m done. I tell her that she forgot to apply top coat. She claimed that she had already applied it. I almost had to raise my voice to convince her otherwise. Never going here again. I had to re do my nails at home because they looked awful.

Love this place! All the staff are very friendly and they go above and beyond to make sure I’m happy with my nails! I’ve been going here for 5 years now and love Howie and Mickey! They always know how to make my day and I enjoy talking with them! This is the place to go if you want reasonable and awesome looking nails!

I don’t usually write reviews at all for places like this but this one I MUST write. My wife and I had a very terrible experience at this location primarily because of the manager. He was a very impolite, disrespectful, condescending, arrogant, unprofessional, male chauvinistic pig. Not to mention but also extremely RUDE! He reprimanded my wife as a customer for not knowing the answer to a question and continued to belittle her for getting her nails done at another place. He didn’t even know what the word “reprimand” meant. He made her feel awkward and uncomfortable creating a scene and embarrassing her at the same time. So I called to find out what was going on and after trying to explain to him partially in Vietnamese, as pretends that he doesnt hear me and hangs up. I tried calling back and he doesn’t answer. He then proceeds to take the phone off the hook right there in front of my wife as she is sitting there in near tears texting me what he was doing. He thought that because my wife is white, she wouldn’t understand the stereotypical gossip and banter he had with the other workers talking about her while she was there. My wife is a regular customer with her friends of the community. Needless to say, she and her friends, colleagues, and co-workers will no longer be returning because of this one person. That’s a lot of customers and business loss for this location considering that she is a nurse in the local area and parent of students in the Irvine community. That means that many of the nurses at Hoag Irvine and surgery center where we will share this review and all the moms of Irvine HS, Greentree Elementary, Beckman HS and more will not go there anymore. I am especially disappointed by the lack of communication and customer service provided by this guy who makes me ashamed of my Vietnamese culture and background. This guy promotes and upholds the traditional stereotypes of Vietnamese people in the nail shop in a negative connotation and continues to make our people look bad by the way he acts and behaves. He needs to go get sensitivity training along with tact, etiquette, and customer service support instead of calling everyone “Honey,” like a traditional FOB. People like this guy is what causes businesses to lose customers and for the community to lose trust in Happy Nails. Something needs to be done to improve relations with the community and the first thing is to remove this manager. He even treats his workers like slaves by making them feel inferior to him. If you look at all the other bad reviews, they point out a common theme and that is the manager there is a big problem. We will be contacting corporate offices to relay this message and express our dissatisfaction of the management at Happy Nails Irvine Blvd. I don’t recommend going there unless you want to be treated like a subservient person.

The man who is the manager at this place is horrible. He is rude and extremely unprofessional. I made an appointment for 1 o’clock to get a pedicure and manicure. I get there a few minutes before 1 o’clock and by 1:15 nobody is working on my nails. When I questioned who was going to work on my nails, because I had to leave (I had a flight to catch) he starts mumbling in Vietnamese, which I could tell was not a pleasant comment. He finally gives me somebody to do both for me and I kept saying I don’t have that much time (for one person to do my manicure, and once done to start my pedicure) and then again, he starts saying things in Vietnamese. I got up, gave him a piece of my mind and left. I am never gonna go back to this place. I’ve been going to this place for over 15 years and he has always been very unprofessional. But I had never had a direct encounter with him until today. The only reason I kept going there was because Leana who does my nails is very good at her job. I’m certainly going to miss her.
