I have been going to Alexa Leigh at HairMates exclusively, and I love her so much! I trust her to the point where I just tell her to do whatever she feels that day and I am never disappointed!!! She always recommends the best products and I know she believes in and uses them herself (aka not just trying to sell it for the sake of selling it – she explains exactly what it is and why she is recommending it). I make the trip from Boston every few months especially for her!

Beyond fortunate to have brought our daughter to see Nikki at Hairmates Salon and was stunned by the extraordinary results! Not only was Nikki accommodating with regard to scheduling our visit, but she really listened to our daughters requests and consulted with her to be sure she was getting just what she wanted. Alexa is an amazing hair stylist!! Every time I see her I am beyond happy with my results. I have fine hair and I always leave with my hair feeling full of volume and great layers. Will be back for sure.

Worst experience ever. The man who introduced himself as an owner told me that old ladies like me shouldn’t get some type of haircut and should have their hair styled in a different way (I was in my early forties), and then gave me a haircut that was absolutely horrible, and made me look not only older, but also really awkward. The cut was much too short and couldn’t be fixed. The style was outdated. The stylist tried to entertain me by bragging about his military background. The only ok thing about this visit was a good Italian coffee that they offered, and a nice young girl at the reception. I have never visited this salon again. There are really great other hairdressers in Stoneham or Reading (ex. Kenzo or Maven and the Muse). Don’t waste your money and time on being offended and having your hair mistreated. It has happened a few years ago, an awful memory. If this person is still working at the salon, in whatever role, I would recommend some reflection on customer service.

Kaleigh was an absolute delight. I gave her a picture of what I wanted and she did it even better. The color is exactly what I wanted. I always leave the chair feeling elated with my new hair! The atmosphere is always lively and fun. I will never go anywhere else!!
