I had my first haircut last night. The place seemed great, friendly staff, clean place etc. I asked for a low cut fade on the sides and on the back and to blend it in at the top, and to thin out the top of my hair. When I left it looked good from what I could tell (I was not shown how it looked from behind in the the mirror, I should’ve asked for that, my mistake), however when I got home and used a handheld mirror to look at the back of my head, I could tell the fade was not done properly. There were several spots that had not been faded properly and it looked awful. There were patches of hair left. The top portion was decent.
I paid $35 for the haircut and $25 to get my eyebrows waxed, which were just two quick wax strips that took less than a minute and they charged $25 for that, seems very high. It was almost $75 total tip included and for that price everything better be close to perfect.
I don’t plan on returning to this salon going forward.
If the stylist is not confident doing a fade, just be open and honest about that and I would have accepted that.
