I really tried to like this place but it’s very disappointing…. The pictures were taken right after I ran out of this nail salon. The quality of service does not meet basic expectations. I got a gel mani, and the cuticles were not done properly. The gel was not evenly covered because Dead skin and other dirt/ dust was not cleaned up before coating the gel. There were bubble on the surface. The gel mani is overpriced and there is a mandatory $14 gel removal fee. There is no water provided, I had to go to the store next door to get some water for myself to drink…. How can this place complete with local nail salons with overpriced, and low quality services?

Paola is amazing! I’ve been going to Glosslab in Hoboken since May of this year and unfortunately the nail tech I previously visited was over filling my nail bed to the point that my gel manicures were peeling directly off within a few days and my nail lengthen wouldn’t last at all as they grew because they were being excessively thinned out.

I requested for Paola after being serviced by her once. My nails have grown drastically and they’re noticeably much healthier. She is an absolute pleasure to see every time and she respects my wishes and limits on filing my delicate nail beds as they recovered. I am extremely appreciative of her work and dedication.

VERY DISAPPOINTED…I was a first time client at Glosslab and had high expectations. My nail tech hardly cleaned my cuticles, cut my nails into very strange shapes, and now only 3 days later the gels are bubbling off. A gel manicure should definitely last 2-3 weeks…I will not be returning.

As an aside, I am also an interior designer and was disappointed with the design and atmosphere. Glosslab portrays themselves as a trendy/sophisticated spot and I did not feel that whatsoever.

I wish I could go back and not go here. Overpriced. $66 for a basic gel manicure. My normal spot in Hoboken is only $35 and I have never had an issue. Only 10 hours after I got my gel manicure it popped off. I went the next morning when they were supposed to be open according to their hours to get it fixed and they were closed. The phone number on the website doesn’t work. So now I have just spent $66 for a terrible gel manicure and unfortunately I work in the hospital all weekend and have no other time to fix it.

Omg this place is terrible- I did the 2 gel manicures for $55 deal and only went back the second time because I already paid. The first time I got a gel manicure the gel started bubbling within a week, even some of my friend saw it and said how they’d never go this studio based on that. Then look at these pictures from my list trip- I was there this past Friday and it’s only Monday. 4 days later and my gel is peeling like crazy! I also am off work and have just been relaxing so no one can say my nails got messed up from anything else. This also matches how much I disliked the appointment itself- I got to my appointment 20 minutes early and was told I could get started with my apt right away because there was no wait (yay!) so then I asked about the different designs- I pre-paid for 2 basic designs but the wall didn’t have any designs under the sign. So I asked the girl at the front desk what to get and she pointed to a different section (without any signage) super rudely to look at those- so I just said like oh okay can I get one of the “step up” designs instead (because who would pay $4 per nail for A DOT on your mail!?) and the girl went “um well we have to see if there’s time in the schedule.” And just stood there. I asked nicely if she could check and she didn’t say anything after me looking at the wall for 4 min, so because I felt awkward I just chose a line basic design. The girl clearly never planned to check the schedule and again- I was 20 min early with 3 manicurists standing around (and when I left no one was waiting) so it was obvious it was possible but asking her to check felt like a major inconvenience. Regardless of that experience, the manicure was just unpleasant- it was awkwardly quiet in the salon, nothing to look at while you got your nails done, and they cut your cuticles dry which no one likes. Only positive- I liked the shape the manicurists did both times. Anyway, I still tipped 20% and left just like “meh whatever not the greatest experience and overpriced but at least I have a nice manicure”- not at all expecting it to last 4 nights for a gel manicure. Lame.
