This is after 3 full weeks on (dip on my natural nail). I have never had an issue with Elegant nails and always recommend them when people are looking for a spot! Reasonably priced compared to other places in the area. Every tech I’ve had has been meticulous and kind.

They do a great job and have some cool chrome and cat eye polishes.

However, they really need to get new UV lamps, the one I used recently there was pretty gross. I asked them to clean it and they cleaned it with a dry paper towel. It was still pretty gross and the inside of it was all scratchy and chipped. Felt really rough on my hands when i used it.

I’ve been looking for a new nail place since my old one shut down, and I really wanted to love this one – it’s close by, it has great hours, and my gel manicure was only $32(!). The inside was welcoming, everyone was friendly, and I barely had to wait past my appointment time even though they were busy. I could also tell that they had a few regulars, which is always a good sign to me.

HOWEVER, there are a few things that are going to stop me from coming back:

1) the big one: a week after my manicure, my ring finger is red and swollen, and there’s now puss coming out of my nail 🙁

2) I had grown my nails out and shown the lady doing my manicure the exact length I wanted, and instead she cut them down so much there was literally no white nail left

3) along those lines, she picked out my skin SO much that the tips of my fingers felt RAW afterwards – it was painful to even tap them on my phone cause my nails were so short and my skin was picked off

4) my GEL manicure chipped after less than a week

I was really looking forward to treating myself with a cateye polish, but unfortunately my technician didn’t do the magnet step to create the effect. I just paid 15 dollars extra for no reason. She was rude with me when I asked questions, and after a while stopped asking me to put my hand in the UV Light, just grabbed my hands and shoved them in the lamp. She wouldn’t let me leave my hands in the lamp long enough for them to cure properly. She was rushing and kept sighing and pulling my hands closer for her to work on, and pausing and giving me dirty looks. I was disappointed, I was looking forward to treating myself! It was rude, unprofessional, and a waste of money. If you’re looking for a great place to get gels done, Helen nails in Arlington is fantastic + has parking!
