It makes me so sad to give this review, because I did end up liking my nails. The reason for the low star rating is because of the sneaky pricing tactics. I specifically asked for acrylic nails and a pedicure when I went in today, because I wasn’t wanting to spend over $100. According to their online menu, an acrylic full set should have been $30. I believe the menu in the store said $35 for a full set. The man who did my nails even repeated back to me that I wanted acrylic nails and a pedicure. I said yes multiple times. Both the lady doing my toes and the man doing my nails also asked on two separate occasions if I wanted gel which I specially said no gel, regular polish only.

I assumed between me saying no to gel and also specifying acrylic nails meant that they understood I wanted regular polish. I should have known they were going against my ask once the UV light came out, but I haven’t had acrylic nails done in a very long time (I usually do dip), so I know if a UV light was a standard step in the process for all nails nowadays.

At the cash register, I noticed the lady click very quickly through the charge screen so I didn’t get a good look at what I was charged for. I was completely shocked when I saw the $100 tab, but I’m not a confrontational person so I just asked for the receipt to look at later.

I ended up getting charged for gel nails that I didn’t asked for. On top of that, I was charged $54 for the set which the online menu shows to be $40. Assuming they had a $5 increase similar to the acrylic set I’d think that the gel set shouldn’t have been more than $45.

It is upsetting that I had made myself pretty clear that I wanted basic acrylic nails and got charged way more than anticipated for something I didn’t ask for. They did listen to me on my toes, though, and did good job with regular polish. No complaints there.

My nails turned out beautiful which I was excited for because I’ve tried many different salons nearby recently that have done an awful job. I thought this would finally be my go to salon. However, I wont be coming back due to the shady pricing tactics. It is disappointing that honest nail salons are so hard to come by nowadays. 🙁 Adding a screenshot of the online menu and my receipt.

I tried “Elegant Nails” due to convenience for close proximity. However, I’m sadly dissatisfied and disappointed on the service provided by the nail tech. I went in for a dip nail service on natural nails and I even brought my own nail decals, which she ruined by putting on a clear coat that shriveled one of the decals. I understand that it being a Friday, the salon was pretty busy so I wanted to overlook the service, but when I saw and felt my nails I had to come write this review. The nail tech didn’t offer me to wash my hands to remove the residue from the dip and top coat, she didnt add cuticle oil or lotion; but I’m sure I’d be more upset if she did since my hands were dirty. It just upsets me that she was in such a hurry to finish with me that she overlooked the customer service part of the business. The service was pretty messy from what I’m used to and to top it off she left my nails really short, I’ll admit they weren’t too long to begin with, but they now look like nubs. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Nails look rushed. I got my nails done 4
days ago and the paint started coming off the same day. the acrylic base is not smooth it is uneven. they cut my nail bed area when drilling.

EDIT- I went back up there and got my nail fixed. They were super sweet about it and fixed it for free. Offered to Do a new Set but I just had them fixed the one nail.

I always have Nancy do my nails. I’ve been going to her for well over 20 years. Yes! Way over 20 years, she’s that good!!! If you want a clean French or ombré, Nancy is your go-to. She does my nails in a Solar dark pink and white ombré that looks so beautiful!! This time she put a clear chrome on and gave my nails a little bling. It’s subtle but stands out at the same time.

A month later, I’ve gone for a redo. Nancy did my normal ombré, but added her handpainted marble to spice things up! Love how it looks like pink fire!! I can’t stress how awesome a job she does, as always, thanks my friend 🤍
