Davis Nails

I came in with a previous nail set on. I asked to have my cuticles pushed and trimmed. The service took a total of 4 minutes. When it was time to pay, they loudly talked amongst themselves, laughed, and charged me $25. The price of a full manicure. I did not receive any nail filing, shaping, or paint.

I’d been searching for a new nail salon for a few years now after removing my business and loyalty from the popular V Spa. And Davis was definitely the way to go! Love the environment and friendliness and professionalism of the staff and owner! My search is over!

Great atomsphere! Lisa is amazing. She did a gel set on my toes and my eyebrows. I have been looking for a good nail tech for awhile and no one has impressed me, until Lisa!! I will be seeing her from here on out. My large toe nails both had cracks from my shoes and she glued them and used acrylic so the nail doesn’t continue to crack (NO ONE has done this before). She was very sweet and we had good conversation. I love this establishment and Lisa just made me love it more 🙂

So I guess since the owner isn’t there this week the other nail tech decided to be rude and at like they were irritated with me and my mom because we couldn’t pick a color meanwhile every color we picked they didn’t have. I was not happy with this set!!! It was rushed, I’ve been going to them for some time now so idk maybe it’s time to switch nail salons.

I’ve used Davis nails for about a year, I went on the recommendation of one of my coworkers and used her nail technician. I used to get a gel mani and a regular polish pedi and of course would come back for the polish removal and all that. It was a little pricey, between $90-$100 per visit not including tip, but I was fine paying the price so long as I was happy with the services.

Just before COVID I stopped getting gel manis because I don’t like what the gel does to my natural nail. After the restriction was raised, the first thing I did was go get my mani pedi. My nail technician was happy to see me. She asked if I wanted gel and I declined and asked for regular polish. We did the song and dance about it not lasting as long, won’t look as good, etc. but she gave me regular polish and it lasted about a week and a half before it started chipping, so I was satisfied.

About three weeks later, I come back for my mani pedi, same thing, ‘you sure you don’t want gel? It lasts so much longer.’ No gel, I’m fine thanks, regular polish. She did a black French tip, and it looked hella cute. The very next morning, it starts coming off. Not like, a little chip at the tip, I mean big chunks flaking off.

I was disappointed and a little irritated since the regular polish I got before lasted so much longer. I waited until I was out of work and called the shop, checking to see when I could come in, the first thing the guy said when I explained what was happening was. ‘It’s regular polish, it doesn’t last that long.”

Bruh, for the $80 I spent in your salon yesterday, it better last longer than one effin night. By the time I got there, whole nails had flaked off. I went to my technician and she sat me down and started working on my nails. While she did, she made the comment, ‘this is why we say gel, gel so much better.’

She ‘fixed’ my nails and I think she put a gel top coat over the regular polish which doesn’t work, the gel can’t cure properly on top of regular polish, so I knew that this was just a method to shut me up and get me out before I made too much fuss, which is what decided me on weather or not to write this review.

I genuinely like this place. The atmosphere is soothing, the people are nice, I love my technician she ( normally) does a very good job. But looking at my nails this morning they’re a travesty, and seeing as how I tipped her 15% no matter what I got, I don’t understand why a business would purposefully sabotage what a customer wants just to make an extra $10 bucks for a gel mani.

I suppose I should drop the three stars down to two but honestly, prior to this I hadn’t had a bad experience. This place is great if your getting gel, just don’t ask for regular I guess.
