The service was awful and not a welcoming experience at all. The nail tech was rough and not professional. The pedicure was not relaxing whatsoever and she rushed her service. I told her that the toe separators kept slipping off and to take them off which she laughed off but got frustrated when one of the nails was ruined. Then comes the rushed gel manicure. I have nail polish that wasn’t cleaned off of my fingers. I asked her to file my nails shorter and gave me attitude about it. She then proceeded to take out the nail clippers and cut my nails anyway and ended up cutting my finger. I asked her to please just finish because I wanted to get out of there. The tech then started talking about me and little did she know that I understood EVERYTHING she said. Next, she proceeded to talk about the nail color I chose to the nail tech next to her. The nail tech next to her is known for her unprofessional behavior from the previous salon she worked. She didn’t recognize me but I surely knew her.
When it comes to the pedicure station, one of the nail techs used the same towel that a customer just had their feet on to clean the seat after the service was over. She also just rinsed with water the callous grinder instead of using proper sanitary materials to clean it.
As customary for any time that I receive a service, I gave a tip even though the mail tech was undeserving. I have a 15% tip which was generous considering the awful service and she had the nerve to count the money, sigh, roll her eyes and walk away as if what I gave her wasn’t sufficient enough.
This is the first and last time that I go to Citron. I gave the extra star because they had great color selection but otherwise my nails look horrible. I have gone to other low quality salons but at least I wasn’t treated like garbage.

I didn’t have an issue with the end result or the adequacy/competence of service for manicure, pedicure, and eyebrow waxing but the customer service by the employee assigned to me was abhorrent. She was brusque, passive aggresive to the point of borderline actual aggression, banged items when using them, displayed a hostile body language and tone, and muttered things I did not understand. She spent the bare minimum time and effort for each task, cutting corners whenever possible. Her behavior was so obviously antagonistic that it was noticeable to the other patrons and employees who were glancing over in surprise. I did not see anyone else in the salon being treated this way (misguided racism/selective treatment by this employee maybe?)I gave a 15 percent tip as I am aware that tips are the primary source of pay for employees in this sector and the end results (nails and eyebrow shape) were okay but it was probably not deserved due to the blatantly hostile/unwelcoming customer service experience. I was also probably overcharged 5 dollars for the manicure based on the listed menu but when I inquired, I was met with even more hostility and comments about forgetting the services I just received. I just paid and got the hell out of there after that additional unpleasant exchange.

While my nails and eyebrows look decent, the experience was not at all relaxing instead it awful, disrespectful, and left a bitter taste in my mouth. Staff need to be trained to treat all customers well.

The male employee who initially greeted me assigned me to the table/employee also used a disrespectful and overly loud tone when speaking to me. To add insult to injury, the place is overpriced compared to others in the area. Definitely never returning here.

I started going to Citron Organic Nail Lounge in Eldersburg, MD a few months ago and have truly enjoyed all my nail care experiences there. My regular nail technician, Jennifer (Jen), is absolutely wonderful. She is kind, professional, and very personable. I opted for the dip powder manicures and really like the overall outcome every time my nails are done by Jen. Due to my constant typing on a laptop, I need to keep my nails short and strong. I am a woman that likes to go for the extra “sparkle” in my polish though, so Jen is very accommodating to my requests and makes some really nice suggestions for different color options. She does a great job with buffing and filing down my nails for smoothness as well, so my nails never look or feel bumpy at all. The whole process takes about 45 minutes to one hour and I find the pricing to be fair and typical for this type of nail service. In regard to customer service and satisfaction, I give Jen an excellent rating and will continue to see her on a regular basis for my dip powder nails.

I just read a very harsh-negative review by a ‘DMc’ and I’m overwhelmed. I go to Citron because of the professional & friendly atmosphere & because of my technician Jen. She’s happy & hardworking, & always kind and professional. She offers me professional advice, & listens to my ideas. I’m always thrilled when I leave…so much so that I schedule every 2 weeks to have a “freshening up”. I know that sometimes the technicians speak in a language other than English, & the girls are obviously friendly and fun with one another, but that’s something I like! I giggle along with them. They’re adorable! I’m 100% confident in our relationship and have never felt disrespected…ever! Jen, I look very forward to getting my nails done by YOU, and thank you for all your expertise!…& know, if I didn’t like something, you’d change it up until I was 100% happy. Thank you Jen & the entire Citron Staff for being a business I can be proud to support!!! See you all soon!
