I wanted a blonde balayage. When I went the first time everything got really rushed and foils were all pulled out before the hair was fully processed and then washed out. Toner was not completed due to time restrictions. I got told when I came back my toning session would be covered because it wasn’t completed the first time. I then got told I could not tone to the color I wanted and had to go with a dark toner to match my roots since they were orange if I wanted it to be even toned. After this whole process I got charged for my toning session that was supposed to be free and the person I was scheduled with apparently went home early and I did not get called to reschedule. Then I had to wait 45 minutes to have another student complete my appt to make it go back to how my hair was at the beginning 🙃 all that money for the starting result I had. I’m so frustrated and disappointed 😞

I absolutely loved Sam. She was super friendly and honestly did exactly as she should have.
But I’m extremely disappointed with the instructor.
Sam was doing a wonderful job with my hair until the instructor came by and started telling her what to do.
I went in with a ombré and asked for a BLONDE balayage… somehow came out with darker hair than I went in with???
I was told I still had to pay and I should expect a call from someone higher up on if they approve me to get it fixed for free or not after 7 days. Needless to say, I walked out in tears because I have an important event in 4 days.

I went in to get my make up done for an event, I was iffy at first to go to school due to bad experiences before. My sister recommended this place as she had been there multiple times and likes the service. Decided to give it a try and I was disappointed.
First I understand it’s the a school the students are learning and are not professional. However they are paying thousands of dollars themselves to be taught by “professionals”. Not once did I see an instructor come and try to guide the sweet girl who was doing my makeup. I could tell she was lost and trying her best, she obviously didn’t know the simple way of doing a full face of makeup and just jumped in whiteout really knowing how to go about it.
This school should be addressing the cleanliness of the environment and the condition the students are working in. For example the place has horrible lighting, they need to be able to provide the accurate atmosphere for the students to practice. They also should be teaching the students about the brands they could use to provide a better service. They should understand just because it comes from a fancy label doesn’t mean it will give you the best result especially if they don’t know how to use it. The student also seem to be either using their product when it comes to makeup and brushes, and if they were using the school’s products it looked old and outdated.
I know she is not to blame for the lack of guidance she was given. But this school is horrible for letting their student believe they did a great job when they never tried or attempted to correct her techniques or mistakes.

Briana has a very artistic and gentle touch. She has made me feel more beautiful in my two sessions with her than I ever have with another stylist. She’s sweet and personable, and very talented! I love and recommend her! ❤️

Made a haircut appointment at 8:30am. Showed up at time of appointment and after 35 minutes asked when I would be seen. Was told student just arrived and was setting up. I again asked after 10 more minutes how long my haircut would take once the student was ready and was told around 90 minutes. A simple trim would take between 60-90 minutes. I asked why I was given an 8:30am appointment and not seen after 45 minutes of waiting. I was told I was waiting for student to arrive and then to set up.
I left and found a salon to take me as a walk in and managed to trim my hair in 15 minutes. I will never waste my time on Avalon Beauty School again.
