I’ve been coming to Art Up now for a few years and they are the only nail salon I will go to. The prices are fair and more reasonable than most other Japanese nail salons, not to mention totally transparent.

I’ve gone to other places where you are told one price but by the time you check out, the price has gone up for some reason as they try to explain why they needed to charge you more.

I can’t comment on the other nail artists but Sandra is incredible. She will recreate designs I show her – or (my favorite) show me what’s popular in Japan and free style it. I love almost every single design she’s ever done and I’ve gotten stopped and complimented on the street, from friends, and even people in Japan!

Last but not least, everyone is totally nice and friendly! I almost don’t want to tell anyone about this place because I don’t want Sandra’s schedule to get too busy so that she can’t do my nails but I want her to succeed so, 10/10 recommend. Just go, you won’t regret it !

I’ve been coming to Art Up for over two years and I don’t think I’ll ever go anywhere else in the city. The service is consistently excellent – not only are my nails done with care and attention to detail, but I’m treated with kindness by the whole staff. Sandra is so incredibly talented and trains her team exceptionally well. This week I had my nails done by Jessy for the first time (picture attached) and was so impressed with her technique and meticulousness. I truly love Art Up, they never disappoint! I always recommend them to all of my friends.

I’ve been getting my nails done here since the pandemic and they are still the best in the city! The best attention to detail and a variety of colors to choose from. They’ll always get your designs right!

Updated review: They immediately reached out to me to redo my nails with a top technician. They turned out to be very well done, with thorough care to prep and cure my nails. We are not quite sure what happened the first time, but this time the nails feel much more secure and are likely to (literally) sick around longer. I do think the nail art pricing transparency should be shared up front, but otherwise a clean and comfortable studio. It also seems like they have lots of loyal repeat customers, so maybe my experience was a fluke. I appreciate that they were quick to make this right. May consider their Japanese manicure (hard gel) in the future.

I was really disappointed in their lack of transparency when I had booked an extension manicure for $103 and on short notice asked for two little hearts painted on for Valentine’s Day. She didn’t tell me it would be $37!!! I would have said no. Worse, the extensions have started lifting in 5 days of wear. Sorry but cannot recommend.

My friend recommended me to Art Up Nail Studio last year and I have been coming here monthly to get a nail design done. I always book Rina for my nails! She’s really dedicated and focuses on getting the designs to look right on your nails. She’s also upfront about her opinion in your choice of colors or what would help stand out more. Really appreciate that!

My nails have lasted up to 6-8 weeks when I was too busy to come by. Even though they last quite a while, I like changing them earlier to get a fresh design monthly.

All of the staff here is super pleasant and they try to greet you in a timely manner, even if you’re hiding outside in their waiting area. I’d recommend the services here to anyone. Can’t wait for next month to get more nail art done.

(P.S. for people looking through these reviews, yes I like pink. Rina has been 100% supportive of this and helps me select different shades to add some variety to my addiction. Thanks for never judging me and always being honest Rina!!)
