I went in for removal of my acrylic nails, and asked for a dip polish service on my natural nail. The lady who originally helped me was very sweet and took her time with the acrylic removal. She was rushing the entire time of the dip service as she said they close in two hours. She then went on to help me pick a color – this was my mistake – I wanted a dark green or black but didn’t see black as an option so I went with the dark green. Come to find as she was doing it for me that this was a “change color” dip polish. I did not want this. I showed and verbalized to her that I did not like this color. She said, “next time you can do black.” Anyway. I go to pay ($60 and I tipped only $9 so total of $69 for my service). I went home and didn’t realize that the color not only was awful but that the polish went over my cuticles and it was awful all around. I called and said I wanted this fixed or removed entirely. When I went in they were kind to have another lady work on my nails and she said I can pick a different color as long as it’s dark without her removing the whole thing (she drilled a top layer). So I went with black. I left the salon with the photos you see posted after the original green I got. She said because it’s black this is normal. I get black dip nails all the time and this is not normal to have all over my cuticles and nails. To say the least I give them 2 stars for their kindness but I will not be going back.

I went for a pedicure and a fill in. The pedicure from Nini was good, but the fill in from Anna was awful. You can see in my photos that the nails are waaay too thick, the blue paint is sloppy towards my cuticles, and my actual nails are hanging out of the sides. Would not recommend for manicures. 🙁

The salon is by a yarn store, that’s how I came across it: I was shopping at the yarn store. It has parking. And street parking is also available.
The atmosphere is soothing with soft contemporary music. TV is off when the music plays. 4 manicure stations and 4 pedicure stations that have massage chairs. Quality shellac polish. “Soft” atmosphere so it’s easy to almost fall asleep. Filtered cold and hot water with a tea option.

Prices are very reasonable. Downtown I paid almost twice as much while here it’s very reasonable for an Instructional Assistant or a Teacher’s pocket.

When I go for mani/pedi I’m looking to de stress, catch a breather. I can always do it here. I highly recommend the Amy Nail & Spa to women, men and transgender folks.

The girls working were nice but I unfortunately got probably the worst mani/pedi recently. Did not do a good job getting cuticles, polish on skin, gel top layer sticking to skin.. don’t think I will go back, unfortunately.

I’m new to the area and thought I’d check this spot out. I found my whole experience here pretty unpleasant. I asked for gel polish, and my nail tech brought over the manicure supplies, I let her know I didn’t want a manicure, to which she responded in an unfriendly tone. When filing my nails, she mentioned under her breath that I have a lot of extra skin and I should have gotten a manicure. I picked a light beige, which was not at all translucent on the sample, after three coats it was still pretty translucent so I asked her politely if she could please do one more layer, she actually scoffed at me and told me I’d picked a see through color (which I didn’t think I had) and begrudgingly did another layer for me. She handled my hands roughly – I thought the end result was ok, but I ended up doing some extra filing when I got home to get rid of some residue and fix some spots. Overall I found the whole thing uncomfortable and unfriendly, I won’t be going back 🙁
