I called explaining what I wanted and the owner had no problems with what I was asking and offered me an appointment. My partner and I came to the appointment and I explained again what I wanted from my cut, I specifically asked for her to layer my clip-in hair extensions to blend with my natural hair length, my partner wanted a little off the top and to fade the sides. Kimmy put oil in my hair and trimmed it, it’s uneven, she was redirecting it a variety of directions and wasn’t being consistant with how she cut it, my bangs (low curtain bangs) are uneven which is quite obvious when I wear it down. She straightened it after the trim. She used only a razor/clippers to cut my partners hair, its uneven and choppy, she raised his sideburns more than he asked for, gave him an unflattering shape, and didn’t blend the edges where she used the clippers to clean up, did not fade him she shaved the sides one length. Then, she proceeded to use the razor on the ends of my hair (extensions) to clean up what was choppy (I cut them to length a few days prior) she was very rough with my hair to the point the clips were ripping out of my natural hair. She had the other hair dresser help hold my hair in place, it was very unprofessional. The cut turned out ok, she didn’t take much off and cleaned the ends a bit, I’m not sure how even it is since I haven’t worn them since the appointment. She took a pause to let other customers in. I assume because she had them booked an hour after my appointment, because they showed up exactly an hour after my appointment was scheduled.
When she came back she refused to cut layers or anything into my extensions, when I was persistant that she slice or take out some bulk, she used the razor in two spots and the proceeded to tell me to style it “xyz” ways every day. The other hair dresser (Devin?)was offering suggestions to Kimmy and showing me what her hair looked like and why it works that way, she had the layers I was wanting. The owner, Kimmy, continued showing me how to style it. She said that you can’t cut hair extensions because it isn’t real hair, I explained I put them in the same places each time and that it is virgin hair. She said she couldn’t layer it and was giving inconsistant excuses that did not make sense. If she was not educated in cutting hair extensions she should have said so on the phone so I could have spent my money elsewhere. Her actions were sporadic and unprofessional, she talked the entier appointment and half of it was contradicting other things she was saying. I do not recommend going to this salon, I can’t speak on the other hair dressers as the other woman who was present seemed competent and caring, but Kimmy does not provide the services she once did and we are very displeased with the services we were provided.

Such a great service and place for Juneau! I had an amazing hour massage for only $40! I’m now making weekly appointments. I’m so thankful this place exists.

Great place to get your hair cut, styled, and whatever else fits your fancy the professional staff and the students are awesome and do a fantastic job, would recommend to anybody hands down.
