I was SEVERELY overcharged. The most insulting part about it is they have a price list. I got a deluxe pedicure that’s listed at $60.00, a take off listed at $15 and a full set with 6 nail designs. My final bill? $340. Mind you, I’ve been getting my nails done for almost 10 years in extremely extravagant designs (pixie, rhinestones, encapsulation, glow in the dark, etc…) and XL length. I have never been charged such an absurd amount for a set. $280 for a take off and XL full set with 6 nail designs? I had no energy to dispute the price, so I paid and left. I also left a $30 tip. (Don’t fight me, it’s just who I am!) It’s not so much about the money, it’s that they constantly treat people of color this way, when they build their businesses in our communities and we’re the ones keeping your doors open. I say that because the gentleman who did my nails asked me had I been there before, almost as if he were trying to feel me out to see what he could get away with. I told him I’d been there once, (I didn’t return because I started going to Custom Nails which was closer to my home. I’ve been going there for 5 years.) The only reason I decided to come back the this establishment was to work with a guy named Luis, which is who I scheduled my appointment with the day before! 3 hours or so before my appointment time, the receptionist calls and says Luis won’t be in and they don’t know when he’ll be back. So I saw Anthony. That should’ve been the 1st red flag, but whatever. You live and you learn. Just thought I’d share my story so hopefully this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

I went here 2 days before Thanksgiving. I went back 2 days later to have them fix my polish which was a gel set. It should not have been peeling or lifting in 2 days. Fast forward 1 week later my manicure is totally cracked and lifting. The nail tech Will had the nerve to ask me if he really did my nails before he fixed them. Waste of time and money.

First time at this nail salon and I must say I was impressed. Arren the hostess was amazing she really took care of our wedding group of 10. Kim was my personal nail person and she did a great job on my toes and the massage was the best I’ve had at any salon I’ve been too. The place is nicely decorated and so many different colors of polish. Kathy did my eyebrows and they look amazing. I would definitely come back to this salon whenever I come to visit family in Waldorf. I recommend you give it a try.

If I could give 0 stars I would.
I only have been here twice and each time I endured the worst customer service ever. I only went a second time within one year to give it another chance. However, the first time they had a child that did not know what they were doing take acrylic off for a new set and she cut my nail entirely too low. Naturally I was upset and in pain and was given a disrespectful attitude over her mistake! She tried to fight me because I checked her disrespectful attitude …..
Second time after I was told that young lady was fired I came to get a pedicure. Just a pedicure. The massages on my pedicures are important bc I am flat footed and run alot. So I requested the double massage pedicure. After the first massage I was confused on if it was a massage bc it was so piss poor. I asked her and she said you get a second after lotion and oil. Well I asked her to massage my foot better. This woman takes her gloves off, stands up, slaps them in the water ..splashing me and says you are only paying 45 dollars, someone else will do your feet and walks away. I was speechless, it doesn’t matter how much money I am spending I was there for a service to be done and willing to pay for it to be done well. I just put my shoes on and walked out. No one tried to stop me, or ask if I needed help.

Add insult to injury as I drove out the parking lot to leave maybe they thought I was coming back in because they ran to lock the door as I drove past. It was 4pm they closed at 7. Appalled is not even the word.

I took the chance of going to this salon when my regular salon could not fit me in when I needed. There were 2 good things at this spa…the sugar scrub pedicure and the complimentary hot green tea. The bad far superseded the good. I needed a powder polish removed and a new set put on. The nail tech sanded my cuticles 2x instead of my nail bed. She sanded a few nail beds until they began hurting.
I don’t know if switching to a different adherent in the middle of the process caused the problem of chipped and cracked that I have been plagued with for 2 weeks. I have returned to have a different nail on the same hand repaired 2x in 10 days. When the 3rd nail chipped on the 3rd day, I resolved to let it go (ugly) until my nails recovered enough to have my regular tech do them.
This salon was more costly in time and money. Needless to say, no more Escape Nails for me.
