This barber shop looks very attractive so I went inside and asked for appointment lady on reception said you are first time here so I will offer you premium service in $40.
When I went on appointment day device was good receptionist offered drinks,
On chair stylist asked how would you prefer cut, I explained her how I want but I think she didn’t understand me properly she did her job neatly but when I try to explain her 3 times she didn’t get me and seems like she is getting frustrated and I gave up.
Finally I will say in this area some places charge minimum charges and they do very well. So place is high end but they don’t know how to do haircuts.

I love this place. I’ve been going here since I moved out to the Sacramento area about 4 years ago. Jen has been my regular stylist for about two years now and she does a fantastic job every time I go. Highly recommend this place for all the services they offer with haircuts. Environment is super chill.

To my “ethnic” brothas. This is the review you were looking for. lol you’re welcome.

My girl got me the pedicure/haircut combo for a birthday gift. As a black man, who has only went to black barbers, it was an initial “hell no” letting anyone from a Folsom cut me lol… I did look at some the photos and saw an “ethnic” barber, and said to myself “ok let’s give it shot”. My girl even called ahead and asked if they typically cut black hair “and was reassured they do, and to send me on in as they get that question a lot ”.

In hindsight – what were they going to say? No we don’t want your money and we don’t serve black customers?!

If you’re still reading… na fam, don’t do it.

The lady who cut my hair was a sweetheart so nothing negative to say about her. It’s just clear she’s not a SME when it comes to black hair and blending. All good!

The nice crispy line-up is a staple of any “black haircut”, that’s what makes our haircuts pop. …and to my surprise there was no line-up. Just a straight razor on the back of my neck and then I was sent on my way… “Whaaaa”. Mind was was blown. …plus it would’ve been an extra $50 service to touch my beard. It was a definite hard pass on the additional services… but $125 dollars for a cut and beard, to look like ‘08 Tim Duncan is crazy (IYKYK).

My advice – Get that pedicure and facial here to treat yourself… then call “Pookie” in South Sac and get the fresh cut you deserve.

I’m in town for what was supposed to be one week, and is now week three. I shave my head bald but didn’t bring the tools I need with me. My mother recommended Hammer & Nails for my normal head shaving, plus some pampering. I decided to try the Premium Head Shave and called this morning to book. They scheduled me at 11:15am for the premium haircut.

I have a very minor wait between arriving right at 11:15am and sitting in the chair. The barber/hair stylist/groomer asked me what I was in for today, and I told her I wanted the premium haircut, and to shave the head bald. She told me right away that she doesn’t use a razor, and she will use the clippers instead. I was excited for my first straight edge shave and found it weird the groomer didn’t use a razor when it’s explicitly spelled out in the premium service.

After the buzz to bald, I did enjoy the warm towel and head shampoo. As she was drying my head off, she excused herself to the front counter, and came back saying we were done. We were 30 minutes into the 60 minute service, and she told me to go to the front counter and pay. I went to the front counter and asked if I reserved the classic or the premium, and was told by the front desk worker that the hairstylist said I didn’t need the premium service. I was slightly offended by a business telling me what I need and don’t need, but more confused than anything. Sure, maybe I don’t NEED a head exfoliation or a face massage, but isn’t that the point of pampering? All in all, I paid $60 for a 30 minute buzz cut and a shampoo; something I could have got from a sports clips for $30. Next time, I’ll go to riteaid and get some razors and shaving cream.

The manicure/pedicure area is more luxurious than womens salons. We have our own TV with Direct TV remote and headphones. The chairs are wide Super kush leather seats. They really push to sell you a membership. Unless you plan to use thier services a least twice a month I don’t see the value in it. A smaller membership package I would be interested in. Also a haircut priced for someone that does not have enough hair to style would be nice as well.
