Let me preface this review by saying this: I’ve been coming to this salon for at least a year. Last weekend, I brought my daughter and best friend with me. I always try to bring new people in because I thought this place was great. My best friend and I were getting fills and my daughter a kid polish. I noticed right away the woman at the desk closest to the door, being short, giving attitude but whatever, maybe she’d had a hard day. We chose our colors and sat down to get started. Everything seemed to be fine until it came time to do the design on my nails. 4 nails designed with ombre. The woman told me it would be $75 total for the 4 designed nails. I told her I thought it was steep and asked what it would be for all 10 of my nails to be designed and she told me $90. I didn’t think it made sense to charge me more than half the price for less than half the nails designed so I thought about it for a moment and asked for them to proceed agreeing to the price. Throughout the experience I could tell the staff member doing my nails was upset because I questioned their pricing and it showed in how he was doing my nails (filing down on my nail surface to the point it burned and pushing my hands away instead of communicating he needed them in the light to cure). My best friend and I also noticed how the woman at the desk closest to the door perked up whenever a white person walked in the door. It didn’t matter what service they needed or whether they had an appointment. She was friendly and provided customer service like she should have been doing overall. At that point, it all made sense. There’s no reason to treat anyone who has been patronizing your business as less than. But now I can see this place doesn’t like people of color and I’ll maintain my position to not spend my black dollars here in the future. For further context, I have come here by myself, with other black women and with white women and just noticed the treatment is harsher with no white people in my party. I had been telling people about this place because I thought they were great but now I’ll proceed to post this review absolutely EVERYWHERE so people know not to come here. I have also noticed they do not keep a price board in this place ALTHOUGH there’s a price board at Coral Nails in the Kohl’s Plaza that they also own. So be weary of coming here if you’re a person of color. You’ll be subjected to poor treatment.

First time coming here and I’m very happy with the results as well as the service I received!
For starters, everybody was super friendly, and I had called to see if they had any availability and they were willing to take me in for an appointment with 20 minutes notice! I believe the woman that did my nails said her name was Sissy, and she was really nice! She was very quick with her work while also being gentle and detail-oriented. I was in and out in 30-40 minutes. The massage was really great too! I love dip nails, but sometimes they can be too thick. She did them really great, and not too thick! I’ll definitely be coming back! ❤️

Very abrupt and unpleasant on the phone, didn’t take my name for appointment. No one available when I arrived for my alleged appointment. Bad beginning. Did a nice job on my nails but 5 days later I have chipped gel polish. Paid extra for nail repair and shape. $88 plus tip. Probably try someplace else next time.

I’ve used this nail salon for years but 9 months ago I got a pedicure with gel polish and ended up developing a fungus and ultimately losing half of my big toenail. It’s grown back since. But I didn’t blame the salon as I thought maybe I did something wrong. I went for a pedicure for the first time since the fungus happened, and the tech that did my pedicure cut the ‘ingrown toenail’ off each big toe but seemed to take a long time with my right toe but it didn’t hurt so I thought nothing of it. My big toe on my right foot where he cut the ingrown is now infected, swollen and hot to the touch and I’m on my way to Pequot for antibiotics. Won’t be going back.
