Customer Reviews:
Lost a star because they give confusing coupons. Buy 100 to get 20? Sounds good until your $3 off of 100, so they send you to buy something else to get the discount, just to discover it doesn’t qualify. They probably should be more helpful and specific so customers don’t waste time. When I wanted to check out, a different cashier made me believe I only had $16 that qualified. She just looked at me like I was S.O.L. On another note, one of them actually sent my wife home because they can’t “scan more than one thing at a time from your phone.” These were virtual gift cards and one coupon. This person sent my wife home frustrated and to the point of tears because she worked hard on her money saving apps and the cashier wouldn’t even try. I went in, got the MOD involved, and she actually scanned them. They WORKED, with no special managerial codes required. I wouldn’t even call that helpful. It’s just doing your job.
Lost another star because the quality of advice ranges wildly from one person to another. One will try to help me solve a problem, the next will not even help you think it through. One worker told me primer was not necessary on straight drywall. I understand your paint has primer in it. It’s also $40 -$83 per gallon. Primer is generally much cheaper! Please help and make your customers know their options! There are several honest people who will straight tell you that they have no idea. SEVERAL. I wish they could be somewhat helpful and get someone who could help.
Lost the third star because they didn’t have what I needed several times. I’ve asked them to save my paint in their computer but they said they only do that for the school in town. I needed a cartridge for a shower, but they didn’t have it. Needed a connector piece for an HVAC duct they sold, but nope. I needed another gallon of paint that came from their store, but they told me they didn’t sell it. I argued that ACE was written across the label. They looked at it closer and looked at me like I’m supposed to know what the base was, and that it was written across the bottom the whole time. I don’t speak paint or understand bases or the tinting process. Please don’t imply customer stupidity. Knowing your stuff is YOUR job. They also said they would call me when they got paint mixed. After 1 day, I called and they told me Thursday. Thursday comes and nearly ends before I called for a status update again. It’s been done, and I can come by and get it. It would have been more helpful to call me when it was done!
On the whole, they’ve saved me a few trips to Lowe’s. There are several people there who are glad to see you and look for ways to make sure you are helped and give excellent service. But they aren’t always there, which means every visit is a roll of the dice. Maybe put it into your training manual how to be helpful so your tag line has some merit all the time.
