A good friend of mine loves this place so she referred me to bring one of my foster dogs there. I told the groomer they could do whatever they recommended as long as her body fur was cut short and she was made to look like a female. I was in the process of adopting this foster dog and I got the call while she was being groomed that my adoption application was approved. I was so excited to go and pick her back up from the groomer but when I got there to pick her back up 3 hours later (the groomer said I could pick her back up at 2 and I said that would be perfect because I had a massage scheduled down the road that ended at 2), she was still on the table being groomed. I wasn’t in a rush so that was fine but they almost immediately said she was ready after that. The dogs hair looks like my friends 6 yro son cut it with toy scissors. It’s all uneven and it makes me want to cancel the session that I have scheduled with a photographer for her on Friday. I felt bad saying anything to the groomer as she was walking out for the day as I was at register paying so I tipped her instead of speaking up in the moment (I can’t help but think that she was in a rush to leave work for the day which led to the sloppy job). I bought a little dog dress and wanted to use this place for the doggy daycare but it saddens me to say I won’t be bringing any of my foster dogs to this place to be groomed ever again. I am giving 3* stars based on how cute of a boutique they have here and how friendly the girl at the register was. My friends that I sent this picture to all replied saying that the cut is so choppy and they hope I didn’t spend more than $20 getting her groomed (esp bc they were unable to trim her nails during the appt) but unfortunately, I spent nearly $100 at this place today.

Adding a star for owners quick response willing to remedy the situation. I will update again after this plays out.

Also, fantastic boarding and day care. We have small dogs and it is perfect for them.
We used to live very close, but now we drive 30 minutes to get them there, we tried other spots; but the dogs were clear they love Oh My Dog. Staff is great, and have been top notch for years.

I have a quirky dog (MAX) who struggles with separation anxiety and a host of other fears and angsts. It’s hard for me to leave him because of his fragile nature but the patient and gentle staff at Oh My Dog help put my mind at ease right away. They are always so excited to see him and when I pick him up, I can tell he has had a great time. He’s relaxed, happy, and smiley. I cannot say enough about the loving care they give him despite all his emotional needs.

Daycare and Overnights:
Because Max struggles with separation anxiety, he howls and barks whenever I leave him home alone. I live in a condo and my neighbors are not pleased when Max shares how lonely he is. After multiple complaints, I started taking him to Oh my dog anytime I leave whether it be to go grocery shopping, a haircut, to the movies, etc…
Here he gets plenty of physical and mental stimulation in their fantastic facility and lots of special one-on-one time.

Grooming.
Not surprising, Max is not an easy dog to groom. He flails and screams as if he is being tortured. But the experienced groomers are gentle and take their time so he doesn’t become overwhelmed. Jackie, an owner of Oh My Dog, often steps in to help and calm him during the groom and nail cutting, something I appreciate more than she knows.

Training:
In addition to Max’s other fears and anxieties, he is leash reactive with other dogs. He weighs only 8 pounds but when we are near another dog, he thinks he is a 125 pound Rambo. He is not shy about attacking or biting other dogs if they get close enough.
I have spent years working with trainers and a behaviorist who even prescribed anxiety meds along with training, but nothing worked.

I reached out to Jackie for help and after only one session, I am seeing a huge strides in improvement. She is knowledgeable and does a great job of teaching you the fundamentals and philosophy of working with your dog so you both have success.
Max and I no longer duck around corners or behind bushes or cars every time we encounter another dog.

Oh My Dog is the BEST grooming we have ever found!!!! Stella, our mini golden doodle loves day play & getting groomed once per week! The pink bows are an extra special touch too :). Still scratch my head on this one. We have been customers of Oh My Dog for about 10 years. We have utilized their day stay, their boarding overnights, and grooming services. Our grooming schedule was scheduled every 5 weeks scheduled for our two dogs. The last time around, 2.5 weeks in after the cut, both dogs hair was looking longer than normal, like they almost needed to be groomed again. I didn’t get upset, I didn’t call in to complain. The next visit, I dropped the dogs, I made mention that this last groom the dogs hair just looked longer. The first response well maybe the one dog’s hair is growing faster, both dogs I asked? I was not impressed at all with the Owner, he took it too offensively. Instead of stating something simple let me talk to the groomer, and we’ll make adjustments (easy right?) , the response was well in you live in Fountain Hills(we were driving there because we liked them, I have referred them over and over) it was there are plenty of groomers out there…this is by the owner!! Are you serious?? This time they did, do a nice job, enough that I called in for an appointment. Thought everything cooIed down, things were fine, the next time around, didn’t hear anything about reminders of grooming, found out we were taken off the calendar…The person at the phone had no clue to our name, not a big deal, but hey after 10 years, every 5 weeks. I placed a call to the owner, to see if there was a misunderstanding that we were cancelling, no response back. Nice….Needless, to say he was right, there are plenty of groomers out there, I just know our dogs loved it there. So if you’re a client, stay quiet, because even a casual comment of the dogs hair being a little longer, you will not get a nice response….this was after 10 years…sad….Still shocked.
Add this…..NO, call was ever made to us by the owner, despite how the owner responded.
