MAJOR QUALITY ISSUES (full set of gel x and 7/10 nails fell off within 24 hours)
My mom and I went to get our nails done on Saturday morning, and I paid for a full set of gel X extensions with a gel polish. I was told later that the owner is the person who did my nails and she was very nice, but they were definitely some quality issues even during the session that I mentioned to her. One nail was completely off-center, so she ended up having to use bio gel to sort of sculpt the part that was missing and then shave down the other side. I think this was a saving hack rather than replacing the full nail.
When I got home at around 11:30 AM I walked in the house and picked something up off the counter, and a nail completely fell off. Throughout the rest of Saturday, three more nails came off and then yesterday another three came off. I did not have time to go back. I was getting ready for an engagement party for my best friend so I ended up having to superglue the nails back on, but it didn’t matter because the ones that were super glued stayed, and the rest of them continued to fall off.
I called the facility immediately and let them know what was going on, and they asked if I could come back later that same afternoon, but I could not because I had already been in their salon for more than an hour and again I was preparing for an event. I called the next morning and let them know that I did not want to go back and have them redo my nails. I just wanted to refund because I do not believe that they will do it with any amount of quality. The lady who works at the front desk is nice but she was not helpful and she said that they would talk to the owner and call me back but they never did.
Ultimately, I was missing a nail during the event and I was able to hide it but the whole point of getting my nails done was so that they looked nice and I paid around $70 for essentially the same thing as press on nails that I could have glued on myself.
Of course, I will be going in and expecting to get my money back today, but this was a waste of time money, and it created stress because ultimately I was not able to be comfortable the whole night having to hide my hands. Imagine if I was the one getting married, and this was happening, and I was supposed to be the center of attention, and in every single photo. It’s completely unacceptable. Again, this is why I want a refund and I don’t want them to just do the nails again. I should’ve looked at the reviews before going, but this is a place I’ve been several times and while the quality has never been outstanding, it has never been this bad.
Long story short, the business is set up as a cash cow, they have taken a regular pedi and squeezed the timeframe to skip steps in the process such as cuticle cleaning with softening oils, and creams…proper filing of nails and heel scrub! The tech goes on to apply the nail polish and she doesn’t even cover the entire toe nail, because of cuticles at the base that were not removed properly. She scrubs the left heel and leaves the right untouched! When pointed out she just stares back. Unbelievable!
The worst part is the mgr/owners response, they charged $30, after I asked her to remove the nail polish and pointed to the poor job! 0 care for the service of the customer, 0 professionalism, they treat their staff poorly, and they see customers as dollar signs.
Due to my favorite lady being on vacation I thought I would give this spa a try instead. Left mid pedicure and drove to Nail Studio for a proper mani pedi.
I had Anne help me since Jessica was out. Spare yourself the poor experience and money, and go to Nail Studio just across the street near Rite Aid. Incredibly clean, better or very similar prices, no hidden fees MOST importantly exceptional service!
Live and learn…
