………… the story.
I came in over a work trip and I needed a fast swap of SNS because they were very grown out from a trip to Italy the week before, I couldn’t type anymore. I had time on a Monday morning to get in before a busy week of all day work conference style meetings for 3 days then leave LA. so I came in here read the ratings, got there around open on a Monday, there was only 1 person doing nails. It took literally 2 hours to remove the nail dip I had before (while I wasn’t sure to be thankful he was doing a careful job, it was kinda therapeutic) he missed my nail with the drill MANY times, nicking my skin.
After all that I did a basic dip, 1 color – no designs, no nothing on my regular nail! It took forever to layer this on. And it wasn’t even done normal. It was done via the Gel LED lamp, which i never had done before, I thought ok give it a try. The dip has been the worst it ever has been done. So thin like paper it bends, rough to the touch. The surface looks griddy like you can still see powder under the clear coat. It was never activated. Didn’t even file them right. They are all different lengths, thicknesses, and not even the young i asked for. I wasn’t even going for any thing complicated. Just short, basic round edge. And by day 4 it already chipped off, and a broken nail. If I wasn’t already out of the area I would have went back and complained for a refund or a redo. They even cut your cuticles way down until you bleed.
I don’t even know what to do now besides consider it a loss. And warn others not to even go here.
It’s not worth starting at $60.
I have never had any manicure professionally done come off like this. I should reach out to my credit card now that I’m back from travel.
The lady who did my nails could barely hold my hand (a combination of advanced age and tiredness). She couldn’t see properly. I should’ve just stopped her and walked out. I let her finish out of politeness. Initially, I wanted a gel manicure, but after seeing what I was in for, no way. At one point, I had to cut the cuticles myself and show her how to do it properly. Other staff members watched that happened and said nothing. At least, ask if everything is ok because it wasn’t. Hygiene was also a concern. She left gel on my nails from the previous manicure; cut my nails so uneven it’s embarrassing; left the sides of my nails without nail polish (she couldn’t see, no attention to detail); told me the polish would dry fast and the minute I walked out the nail polish was ruined. No cleaning either.
Over an hour sitting there and my nails looked worse than when I went in. Waste of energy.
After charging me for a regular manicure AND for (badly) taking off the gel polish, the guy at the counter had the audacity to ask me for a tip.🙈I had to go to a different nail spa to get the job done for decent-looking nails.
