I really wanted to like this place because the first time I tried Jenny she did do my nails really well and she also happens to be the only one with the cleanest station and supplies. Two times after that I was seen by Tony because Jenny was busy and the experience has only been the complete opposite. Today was my 4th time to the place, so to avoid being seen by Tony, i called my and set up an appointment with Jenny. I arrive early and was told Jenny is on vacation for weeks and then Kim sees me to get me started. I didnt mind it because I felt Kim probably could be better than Tony but in 10 mins of cleaning off my polish she sends me to Tony to attend to another customer who didnt even have an appointment. So she could have easily continued with me. I understand my hesitation to be seen by Tony should have been shared but I felt it would be rude to do so in front of him. And today was no different from an experience point of view because i came home with a very disappointing work, bumpy polish, too many cuticle cuts, and very very very dirty station and tools. When i told him not to hurt me, he yelled at me saying it was my fault that i moved. I have been doing my nails for over 10 years now so i understand how this works…but not taking responsibility for your error and shouting at the customer instead, is just unacceptable. Never coming back. The 2 stars is for Jenny’s kindness.

They are so detailed here! They got all the side of my toe nails so clean, it felt so good. All the other places did not get it cleaned before. Too bad it’s too far from me. But they made sure my little toes were as cute as can be at the beach. I will definitely seek them out again when I’m in Cary.
Update: Coming back to visit my friend again and still love their nail service from the last time.

Made an appointment for a gel fill and was seated quickly with a male technician. I asked if they had a specific sheer pink/beige OPI color by name. In lieu of a verbal response, I was tossed the basket of samples. A simple, “I’m not sure,” would have been fine.

I was mindlessly scrolling through my phone while he was doing my nails, not really paying attention. The gel started to burn when two girls walked in asking for manicures, like he was adding thicker layers to move more quickly (they did not have enough staff to take both walk-ins at the same time). When using the rotary tool, he was hitting so much skin, it felt like all of the skin on my finger tips was being filed and was on fire.

When it came time for color, I asked to see the three bottles that I had picked from the samples (which were labeled by number) to see if I recognized any of the names. One was the color I was originally looking for so I went with that one.

When I was done, I had to use the ladies room and when I was washing my hands, I noticed how horrendous my nails looked. They are all different lengths. On most nails you can see where the fill line was. They are all different shapes–some square, some rounded–some are square on one side of the nail and rounded on the other side of the same nail. Some are crooked. There are pools of gel at my cuticle. Pictures are after I managed to get out a large portion of it.

When I came out of the bathroom, the man who did my nails was standing there in the back of the salon and I was like, “Hey, these don’t look great” and started pointing out the issues that I’d noticed while washing my hands. Somehow, he came up with a reason that all of the issues were my fault. Eventually Jennifer overheard us talking and came to join. She agreed that all of the issues were my fault. I was getting a fill and, according to her, you have to get a darker color when you get a fill to not see the lines–something that has not been the case for me in 15+ years of having artificial nails.

Jennifer offered several times, between excuses, if I wanted to do a different color or for her to redo them. I asked her multiple times, “Do you think these look good?” while showing her my hands. She never acknowledged that they did not look good. So after being there for an hour, being blamed for misshapen nails, a terrible fill, and picking the wrong color, I decided it wasn’t worth sitting there for another hour to get them “fixed” by someone who thought my nails looked fine they way the other tech did them.

When I got home I looked up reviews on Google, Yelp and Facebook and almost all of the low reviews specifically mention a male nail tech.

I paid full price, tipped over 20%, and left dissatisfied.
