Customer Reviews:
However, unfortunately this past Saturday, I became extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the service I received. I was overcharged considerably, and my service that normally goes super quickly, took forever. I left, and my nails looked great from faraway, but up close, there were bumps and ridges in the paint.
Regardless, I requested a French Mani-Pedi, which had always been done beautifully before. However, this time, they had a very noticeably pregnant woman do my pedicure AND my manicure. I was uncomfortable the whole process watching her bend over and work on my feet.
To top it all off, I’ve never been given push-back when I choose regular polish, the men always do it perfectly fine. She kept telling me that gel/dip is better, and I told her that last time I came and did that, one of the other women that work there burned my fingers and they were sore and tender for days, the gel also embedded INTO my nails, so no thank you.
I then told her I’d like the $38 pedicure, and the $35 manicure. It should have come out to $73, especially since gel and dip cost more and I opted for regular polish. I had taken out enough cash to pay for that and tip.
Fast forward after how horrible I felt watching her stoop and bend over and press her hand to her stomach, she then didn’t manicure. It was very nice and relaxing, but I noticed that she did a paraffin wax that I did NOT ask for, and did not set the alarm for when ten minutes are up for the minor massage, so she ended up doing it longer. Honestly, I felt really uncomfortable even having her massage my arms and hands with her being in her state.
She then went to put a second coat on my toes, and proceeded to squat to the floor and hand my put my foot on her knee, and it was the worst thing in my life. I’m sure she meant well and was doing her best, but how can you let a pretty pregnant woman do that? I tried to get her to stand up and she just gestured for my other foot.
When the total came out to $93, I was bewildered. There was no way $73 should have become $93, but I had a feeling she didn’t understand the options I had picked originally.
Regardless, I went and got her a large $20 tip because there’s no way a pregnant woman should be doing as much as she did.
Safe to say, I will not be going back. That was the most uncomfortable experience I’ve had at any salon. And I was most definitely over-charged. I was trying to be polite as possible and not cause a fuss, but this has been weighing on me since I went last Saturday because I’ve never had this issue before. Celestial Nail Bar has always been a go-to spot, but I think I will find elsewhere.
