EDIT: I have changed my review from 3* to 1*
because I was made aware at my recent nail appointment with my actual nail tech that this salon uses MMA monomer instead of EMA monomer. MMA was banned by the FDA because of how harsh it is on one’s natural nails. It is INCREDIBLY hard to remove, took my tech almost TWO HOURS to remove (soak off + drilling) when usually a soak-off only takes her 25 minutes max. My natural nails were so thin and ragged following the removal we had to call it quits for a few weeks to wait for my nails to grow out and be strengthened again. DO NOT get your acrylics done here, it’s not worth it.

I don’t typically get my acrylic sets done at Kiwii’s since I have a pretty solid home based tech I see every few weeks, but I had a nail emergency and couldn’t get in with my usual tech I decided to give Kiwii’s a try as I’d previously had a fantastic pedicure experience here the weekend before Easter 2024. I am a little disappointed in the overall experience, though my nails did turn out beautiful.

I was a walk-in, and the wait wasn’t too bad. Maybe 25 minutes all together, but the techs were very very busy so it’s totally understandable. I was serviced by Kenny today, and while he was very kind, this was the roughest manicure I have experienced in my time getting my nails done. I needed to get a soak off of a pervious set (there was some lifting because my pinky nails kept snagging on things and I nearly broke a few acrylics due to this, but my usual nail tech was booked way out due to graduations taking place within the next few weeks.) However, after trimming down my acrylics, Kenny attempted to pry the remaining acrylic off which hurt pretty bad since the acrylic was still relatively solidly adhered to my natural nail, other than at my pinky nails which had been lifting in the first place. I did request a soak off twice prior to him trying to simply pry the acrylic off, and had to reiterate the fact that I wanted the soak off after explaining that the prying was hurting me. I did have 3d charms on a few of my nails and the removal of those hurt a little bit as well, when typically it does not.

After my nails soaked in acetone for a bit for removal, he drilled the remaining acrylic off my nails. This was also rougher than what I am accustomed to, and burned at times due to how many times he went over the same spot on my nails, as well as hitting my cuticles a few times.

For the most part I was willing to over look these issues because of how speedy the majority of the process was, and as a mom of 2 young children time truly is of the essence for my appointments. However, I could not get past the point at the end of my set when I got nicked on 3 separate nails (both thumbs and my left ring finger, though it’s hard to see in pictures) to the point of bleeding. The first time I could be understanding, but for it to happen twice more feels a little negligent. Or at the very least, not as attentive as I would have expected a nail tech to be after being made aware the first time. I will say that Kenny was quick to disinfect the nicks with alcohol and I followed up with washing my hands twice to hopefully keep the area clean and avoid any issues but I will be monitoring the next couple of days to insure I do not have any issues arise from the nicks.

For those reasons, I had to rate 3 stars. Overall, the environment is very welcoming and the owners are lovely people, I am just a little disappointed in the fact that I have never gotten hurt getting my nails done prior to this, and paying $80 + tip was a little frustrating. However, I do still absolutely recommend Kiwii Nails & Spa for pedicures, and would even be willing to give them a second go with my acrylics since I know everyone has off days.

Do be willing to speak up and advocate for yourself in the event that you feel any pain at any time during the nail services though! That’s something I have a difficult time with myself, but ultimately it was not an experience that would totally deter me from coming back.

First time at this place, amazing pedicure! Wait time was little to none. Friendly environment, definitely going back.

I went in today with my daughter. She requested a full set with some jewels. Everything was fine for her and she was happy with her end result. The lady that did her nails was quick and listened to my daughter’s requests thoroughly.
I got a pedicure in which I asked to have my two big toes be acrylic. I asked her to shorten them once she set the acrylic, but she did not shorten them as much as I would have liked her to.
I ended up paying $80 for my pedicure but received none of the services included which are the callus removal, hot stone massage, Paragon wax, etc. All she did was rub lotion on my legs and hurried on to the next customer.
Don’t think I’ll be returning to this location in the future.

I have heard great things about this place so I gave it a shot expecting a great visit. To say the least this was one of the worst experiences I ever everrrr had at a nail salon. I walked in and was attended pretty quickly. I asked for a full set, showed them a picture of what I wanted and received nothing close to the picture I showed her. I asked for mid squared nails not thick.

The application of acrylic for mid length nails was so thick! She assured me she still had to file. Made no sense to apply so much acrylic for the picture I provided. Upon the filing of the acrylic nails she did not square my nails she made a slight coffined tip. I DID NOT ASK FOR THAT. And by the time she was done filing my FULL SET of nails they were filed down all the way to the tip on my finger. No length to them. I believe the owner
Which was a lady didn’t get her name came over and understood my frustration asked me to sit on another seat where I had to have the full set removed! They had to be soaked off in which I had to switch seats again. so I sat there with my fingers in acetone and being drilled off for about 30 minutes. The drilling would burn my nail even more so as he got closer down to my nail bed. When I say this was the most horrible experience I’ve ever had I can’t exaggerate that more. My nails were sore by them end of the removal. As much as I kept telling myself to just remove them and leave I wanted to give the person who was going to Correct the mistake a fair chance with a whole new set. Also very disappointing. I told him to just give me a longer length and that I would go with a solid color because I had already been sitting for 2 hours and did not want to risk the same mistake of not getting what I originally asked for.

A story that could be longer I’ll go ahead and shorten it a bit. He cut the side of two of my fingers while filing and also the nails were sooooo dang thick. I was told the first mid length would be 55 and because I did not want to experience the same mistake with them filing too short I went longer and that went to 65$ on top of the powdered chrome I asked for that was an additional 10$. No type of discount was ever offered for what I had to go through there.
Nor did I complain about what I had to pay. Money is not the problem here I was expecting to go in and walk out with something I enjoyed . Yet still had to walk out highly dissatisfied. I will never visit again nor will I recommended to anyone. No one apologized either for what I had to go through. The owner did ask upon pay if they were ok I said “well better than what they looked like” AND I STILL TIPPED. Because complaining is not the type of person I am but such a shame and a rip off to pay close to 100$ for such a horrible experience .

I’ve gone multiple times for pedicures and I absolutely love it there. They nail a French tip perfectly! The staff is extremely nice and very good at what they do.
